But aren't you afraid that he may keep beating Dwight up in practice?

I'd take Amare as a backup C because we're desperate there. He'd be terrible on defense, yeah, but overall could help.

KG and Dwight on the same team after YEARS of disdain would be comical if it was on another team. However, because it's on the Rockets, I'm saying HELL NO to that. Morey would never even breach the topic with Dwight. Amar'e is somebody I would love to have at the vet's minimum since he can play the 5 better than Dorsey.

its sad what injuries can do to a player, amare should be playing in his last prime avg 20/10 as yao ming should too

Amare would be a clear upgrade over Dorsey. If NY buys him out, I'd make a hard push for him.

I just dont see KG and howard being a huge issue( if so cut him) this is the same guy who said, and I quote "lala tastes like honey nut" its just part of his game to get in guys heads.I dont see it being personal just the way he plays. Also, its not like he'll being playing with howard long (if at all). Personally I would rather pick up amare but if either of theese guys go somewhere else its worse for us than obtaining them IMO. Yes amare is a major upgrade over dorsey defense or not.

KG as in Kevin Garnett? Old-as-dirt, mentally-disturbed, just-picked-a-fight-with-us Kevin Garnett? The only reason I could think of to go after Kevin Garnett would be if the NBA's got an award for Sweatiest Player of the Year, and we want that trophy in our case for some reason.

Signing Amare to a contract makes him a decent backup C and makes Jones more expendable for trade in order to get a better PG so yes.

KG is definitely old school and that's why I don't see him agreeing to be bought out in the first place. He even had to be convinced to leave Minny. He doesn't abandon situations easily even if they are trainwrecks like Brooklyn.

There's nothing old school about not agreeing to take less money than what a cashed up organization owes you

I disagree. He is a "good soldier" and sentimental. I don't see him leaving. He will retire this year afterall. The only team that I can see him agreeing to the buyout for is Minny and that's because he loves that team and wants to buy it.

Would have take KG, but then KG decide to head butt Dwight.

Amare, hell no. Never liked his game.

    anyone over dorsey.

we lost to the blazers and clippers due to lack of size. we gave away too many rebs and points in the paint... while at the same time being forced out of the paint as well.

a defensive big with size, like KG would help. anyone (at any position) who can take some of the scoring load off of harden, like amare, would help.

    Someone should start

"Should we be looking to groom our own Amare or KG"

We are not good enough that we can say we only lack the corpse of Stat Sun Zu or the Ticket

Surprised so many people think no, its not like its gonna cost more than vet min, and they wont be here but a couple months. Just dont see how it could hurt. Amare is only 32 I wouldnt be apposed to resignimg him if he comes at the right price to me hes just a really poor mans howard. Ideally i'd like emeka okafor, but doesnt sound like he'll be back this year... he is a hometown guy so if anyone can convince him it'd be houston. Anyone know where his offseason home is? Does he stay in bellaire still?

Do you have evidence that Amare or KG accepted the vet minimum before?

Unless Houston is their dream destination I would say they get more money overseas or let them just retire finally.

No, I have no evidence just speculation, but they could just want to play for an elite team. At this stage in their careers I doubt money is on their agendas, especially being bought out at the final year in their contracts, this late in the season they wont leave much money on the table. I would imagine PT and a good team are their top priorities. Do you really think they would want to play overseas? Aren't most overseas seasons over anyways? Amare is 32 he wont retire, for KG it is an option but I feel he'll at least finish the season.
