I don't think the organization would make such an impulsive decision.. I'd rather take a look at JT while Tracy continues to work himself into GAME shape.
I would be surprised if Ariza is suspended, but that brings me back to the good ole 90's when something like that wouldn't have gotten you a suspension or quite possibly not even gotten you a foul.
http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/12/raptors_101_rockets_88_if_ariz.html feigen seems to think so. and he says mcgrady is getting better every week. and he seems to have the same sentiment as i do. tmac is being held out b/c they want tmac to be tmac when he returns, not another ariza/shane/cbud.
Exactly right. 4 games in 5 nights is not the best way to bring back McGrady. I'm confident Adelman and Morey were not feeding us bull**** when they brought up the tough schedule. Now, I just saw the vision and Ariza should be suspended for at least 4 games. I don't care why he threw and elbow like that, but this is Basketball, not MMA.
I remember Adelman saying that he would come off the bench once he comes back into the lineup. So I don't see why he can't come off the bench against Denver or Dallas.
What, he said that!?!.....why would he have Tracy come of the bench specially since Ariza is suspended....even if ariza wasn't suspended i still dont see why not start t-mac when he comes back, his a million times better than shane (stand in the corner on offense) Battier....ugh -RB
Coming off the bench or starting is irrelevant. It is the minutes that he plays. 4 games in 5 nights, is tough for someone who has barley played in the last year to make a return. The plan should not be altered for some bonehead decision by Ariza to swing an elbow.
How do you figure? Nobody antricpated Ariza getting a suspension and I think this could possibly alter the decision. And if it's the minutes they are worrying about, Adelman can easily control that.
I'm surprised by the poll results. I'm one who thinks the Rockets' excuses for not yet playing McGrady are a bunch of BS. I want him to come back and play. But, I don't think this is the right way. If he's healthy enough to go next game, he should be playing regardless of whether Ariza is suspended or not. McGrady is a better player than Ariza -- and everyone else in a Rockets uniform, for that matter. The suspension shouldn't matter on his timetable.
This same scenario played out when Bonzi Wells arrived as a supposed savior for Rockets. While he began the season chewing on the bat to contribute to the championship run, he was afforded a similar treatment as Tracy Mcgrady has received. Only when Tracy Mcgrady was injured, was Bonzi Wells granted a pass to participate and contribute. The results were less than stellar, unfortanately.
Look, it's up to the coach. Personally, I think Tmac should be getting SOME time if he's capable, and it should be announced if he's not. If he is capable, let him have SOME time. If he's not, state that is why he's not getting any. I say start Cbud, and if Tmac can play, give him some time off the bench... as much as he can handle productively.
