My hope is that Budinger comes in and plays so well, that Ariza or Battier is forced to the bench... DD
If Budinger starts and plays with Battier and Hayes, opponents (starters) defense will focus on him. I am not sure he can handle it.
right, because Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, and Johnny Flynn are totally being destroyed by getting the opportunity to play 30+ mins of NBA basketball each game...
the problem is we have two offensively inept guys as our wings. look on any nba team and their wings are probably their most offensively talented guys. ariza was a bench warmer just 3 years ago and now he has a green light because he could make some open 3 pointers in the playoffs?
The problem is that Budinger doesn't have that type of talent, just like that Ariza doesn't have max players' talent. High expectation will only destroy him.
Budinger's game is different to those other "star rookies". He isn't a play-maker, at least not yet. Right now we use him to hit set up 3's and finish at the basket in transition.
Yep. He doesn't even look comfortable out there anymore. He's not playing his game, he's trying to be that "All-Star." Maybe he will, but it won't happen overnight. If he ever sniffs the all-star game it will be because year after year he slowly improved and added something to his game.
I wonder if some of you guys realize this season is BONUS. We aren't going to the NBA finals. Just develop our Young guys JT and BUD.. If Tmac is good to go fine but don't rush him back because we are afraid of losing games..
for the MLE? i never had high expectations for ariza. he was going to be a better version of shane battier and that was why we brought him here. he would bring a little bit of more versatility on offense rather than just parking at the corner. if we really had high expectations, we would have signed ariza to more than jus the MLE.
Adelman and Ariza himself seem to think he can do more than MLE players do... Otherwise, he wouldn't get ejected today. Ariza himself couldn't accept his own performance.
Well you were one of the sensible ones. Most people thought Ariza was the second coming. Ariza himself wanted to elevate his game, but the problem is he is trying to do too much. He needs to find his niche in the Rockets offense, and eventually maybe he can become that guy as he improves his game. He actually is better than he was in L.A already, I can see certain improvements in his game. But he is NOT ready to be the go-to-guy at all. The problem was Rick Adelman let him try to be that, and it fell flat in his face. Thus his frustration.
