Should the Texans rest their starters against the Titans?

I started this exact same thread on TexansTalk, and Yes I think they should.. I don't want to risk AJ or JJ to a injury in a meaningless game, and would like to lock up the #1 pick.. I'm not rooting against the Texans, I'm just rooting for there future

Dre might have some type of bonus if he wins a receiving title so im sure he will play.

How is this game any more meaningless than the previous 6 games? The only time you sit starters in fear of an injury is if you are resting for the playoffs...otherwise, you maintain the integrity of the game and play.

    I disagree.

Sucks we lost JJO to a torn tendon in his big toe (offseason activity status in question).

It would suck even more to lose Watt or AJ to a serious injury during a meaningless game within a lost season.

The season is over. Texans are waiving the white flag by starting Yates.

We gain nothing by playing our stars. We can only lose via injury or hurting our draft position.

Von Miller tore his ACL on a routine pass rush on sunday. He didn't even get his with major contact.

Integrity can go **** it self if it means losing JJ, Andre, Duane, or any of our promising young players (Mainly Hopkins and to a degree swearinger) for an extended period of time.

Plus losing 13 straight and having St. Louis get the pick from under our noses would be a MAJOR fail. Seriously if that happened i would never watch the texans again.

    +1

Its meaningless, b/c it's the last game of the years and were drafting either 1 or 2.. If Watt or AJ get's injured and need surgry.. they probably won't be ready for the start of next season

New Football Outsiders 1.1 pick Odds:

Team #1 Pick Top 3 Pick
    HOU 86.7% 100.0%
    WAS 13.3% 87.2%

    I like our odds ;)

    Especially with Yates starting

Treat it like the 4th preseason game and we are good.

Lol no way we beat the titans in their last homegame of the season, even with our starters.

treat it like a preseason game and let the 2nd, 3rd, 4th string players to play and see if they have a future with the team

I think we should just forfeit. Why leave it up to chance at all?

"blew" a 55 yard FG? It "seems" St. Louis may be in the running..."? Considering St. Louis is the only other team that can get the #1 pick, they are definitely in the running. It is between Houston and Washington and their pick is owned by the Rams.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Titans "lay down" in an attempt to "screw" the Texans. They may have a hard time losing despite the fact they have had so much practice.

Am I the only one that sees some salvation of this craptastic season in sweeping the t***? One last "F*** YOU, Bud" makes it worth it to me.

I'd use the game to further evaluate some of the guys who haven't seen the field much

If anything, I'm afraid the Titans are going to tank just to screw us out of the first pick. If there was one franchise douchey enough to do that, it's the Titans.

Well hopefully the Skins can beat the Giants and it won't matter what we do. I am all a board the sit JJ and Andre bandwagon though, I would feel horrible if one of them got seriously injured this game.
