I still remember that game in 2008 where he somehow completed more than 50% of his passes and had 2 TDs against the Texans. Then this past season at Reliant he was as horrendous as he was all season. Why does God put cannon arms on fat bodies with pea-brains.
Damn I wouldnt go that far lmao. Russell is from the Baton Rouge area so maybe the saints give him a look because they have 50yr old Brunell as Brees backup.
LOL c'mon man thats cold. Russell is from Alabama my bad. But I know somebody will give him a look just because his arm alone.
Honestly i don't think it would hurt to look at him and see if our coaches think he could become a better QB i mean he was in oakland i don't think that was the right fit for him and a change might be whats best for him. I think he could be good if motivated. i bet someone will pick him up
Is he worse than the Rex Cannon? Probably slightly better. If he comes for the minimum, I could see the Texans looking at him. After Tony Banks and Sage Rosenfumbles, he would be the third best backup QB the Texans have had. Wait, I'm not sure if that is a compliment or not. Sex Cannon had that whooping 6 QB rating last year.
Rex attempted a whopping 9 passes last season. He is not even comparable to Russell, Grossman made a damn superbowl as the starting Quarterback.
The Bears went to a Super Bowl despite Grossman. Gorssman has never been good even on good teams. If all you care about is team success...the Texans current backup was a member of the worst team ever and his highlight from that season was walking out of his own end zone in a game eventually decided by 2 points.
This has to be one of the stupidest topics for a thread ever. Since we are entertaining the idea of bringing QBs who can't play, why not give Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinovich a shot as well...
And like I have said in the past, the current texans backup is among the worst in the NFL, and even he would beat out Russell. RUssell could never start on a superbowl team, hell he can't even start on the worst team in the NFL, he's pathetic.
Grossman was at least serviceable for the Bears during that time, albeit very inconsistent. One game he would throw 4 TD's while the next he would throw 4 INT's. And if you look at the numbers on Orlovsky with the Lions, he actually held his own despite being behind what might be the worst o-line in NFL history. Without looking at the numbers, I'm betting he put up a better QB rating than Jamarcus has averaged as a starter.
