If they came back to you and told you that add KPJ or Christopher and we have a deal, do you do it?

Nah, I'm not a fan of moving up to #4 get Ivey or any other guard in this draft.
I would prefer to trade pick #17, '23 Bucks 1st, EG, Tate, and Wood to Charlotte for picks #13, #15, and Gordon Hayward.
Rockets can then walk out of this draft with Paolo Banchero(#3) and either Tari Eason, Mark Williams, or Jaylin Williams at #13 and #15.

    New Rockets:
    KPJ/Nix
    Green/Christopher/Queen
    Hayward/KMJ/Mathews/Nwaba
    Banchero/Eason/Garuba
    Mark OR Jaylin Williams/Sengun/Bjelica(FA)

    Top 9-Man Rotation:
KPJ, Green, Hayward, Banchero, Williams, Sengun, Christopher, Eason, KMJ
    Top Scorers/Playmakers:
    KPJ, Green, Hayward, Banchero, Sengun
    Top Defenders:
Christoper, KMJ, Eason, Mark/Jaylin Williams, Garuba, Nwaba

    Absolutely.

Good use of the Sengun asset.

Would be especially crazy if OKC threw a curve and picked Ivey

Green / Banchero / Holmgren would be an awesome core.

Yeah 100%. I'd add sengun also if I'm being honest.

Don't disagree really, but the Kings signed up for the Sabonis defensive experience when they traded for him. Maybe Wood wouldnt go back to them and he goes to a 3rd team like Charlotte for an asset? I think Wood and Sabonis offensively would be a huge issue too

    No it isn't!

It is more like how many Kings fans would be happy to trade Hali for Sabonis (an all star at least!)

With big men names like Gobert or Collins or even Zion on the rumor mill, nobody is trading the 4 pick for Christian freaking Wood!!

Remember that the Kings just lucked out to jump to 4th.

We just don't have the kind of asset they want to win now.
Try Portland at 7 with that kind of package.

Getting rid of Hali was a move of pure stupidity. They made a move for a guy to win now and yet are one of the worst teams in the league that is nowhere near winning now. So yeah it's along the same lines. Sabonis isn't even a premier all star caliber player where he is regarded as one in both conferences. He won't sniff making any all star teams in the west.

nobody is advocating a wood for 4th pick alone. that obviously makes no sense. It assets and the additions of the package outside of Green for that 4th pick

I just wanted to reiterate for other people reading this, since I had to do a double take myself: this is saying that Ivey took the highest percentage of deep 3's, not that he made the highest percentage. He shot the majority (109) of his 179 threes from 25-30 feet and hit 36.7% of them.

For comparison, 78 of Jabari Smith's 188 threes were deep (he hit 43.6%), and 58 of Keegan Murray's threes were deep (he hit 53.4%).

For everyone that keeps saying that our package would be beat out by others, what would those other packages be?

I just don't see the competition for this pick with the parameters the Kings set being as competitive as some of y'all are making it out to be

considering nobody knows what the Kings parameters are, one plausible proposal is as good as the other. key word being plausible

Parameters we know "to win-now with the goal of making the playoffs next season". That was my starting point for all of this

It has been reported as such though, I didn't just come up with those parameters

reported, yet still doesn't make sense when they still lose. So their definition of winning now by getting Sabonis tells a lot of people differently when he isn't that type of player to lead you to alot of wins

When Dallas traded for #3 in 2018, it cost them 2018 FRP #5 and 2019 FRP #10. So, to get to #4 you will have to at least two top 10 picks, or equivalent value.

So, let’s break it down like this:

What could the Rockets give up to get pick #7?

After making that deal, what could they give up to get pick #8?

That’s probably going to be about the cost of acquiring #4. Without fleshing it out with actual players and picks, I’m going to say it’s pretty steep.

They clearly viewed him differently as they gave up a better long term asset (Haliburton) for immediate satisfaction in Sabonis. It seems as if they are doing the same thing here with #4
