    Sheppard's ceiling is Austin Reaves.

Last years draft was deep. This years draft is weak and doesn’t even have a consensus #1 pick.

Clingan is the anchor in the middle that we need we have the guys on the perimeter to defend.

Clingan would give the Rockets a Minny type lineup.
    Clingan-Gobert
    Sengun-Towns

No way Clingan starts over Alp or really anyone in this draft.
Sheppard would probably be the best option. Shooting is what this team needs more than anything

Stone should offer the 3rd and the 44th picks plus Brooks/ Tate to the Hawks for the 1st and fillers. It might be worth it. Houston should try and explore the possibility of acquiring Jalen Johnson if that doesn't work out.

Clingan can't play next to Sengun, especially not with Jalen or Amen on the court, too many non-shooters.

If the Rockets go Clingan, they move on from Sengun.

Clingan would back up at that point.
You would be stupid to move Alp for Clingan

Minnesota and Houston run different offensive sets though. KAT is not usually a high post distributor. He sometimes will pass from above the 3 pt line, but they don't run that set more than as a counter.

If you having Sengun play as PF, so against faster guys, he has to be in the high post and distributing there and not facing them up. He cannot do that with a guy like Clingan clogging the paint. Sure Clingan may develop a 3 pt shot like Brook Lopez but that will take at least 3-4 years.

Out of the top ten-or-so names, I dont see a ton of guys that I"m confident would get much time on the court AT ALL next year over the guys on the roster.

Im not super aquainted with all of them, and there's nothing wrong with building for a couple of years down the line, but nothing I see looks like a clear upgrade of capabilities to me. Like is Reed Sheppard getting run at backup PG over Amen, for instance? Sarr over Sengun, Steven Adams, and Jabari?

Sheppard at 3. Quality starter potential level player. Should fit in nicely off the bench initially.

Agreed...so why pick him #3 if you think he's a backup behind a 21 year old?

So that's why I say they should be looking for a shooter who would actually have a chance at starting. There are glaring holes at the starting 2 and 3...IMO that's where you look.

For sure man. Give them Brooks, #3 pick, and their 2025 (protect for top 4).

Realistically, Clingan isnt a starter. He doesn’t play big minutes and only played over 30 min I think once in college.
There would be jumbo sets with them both on the court if he’s the pick.
There are more important needs, mainly shooting

Risacher would have been a good enough choice if he was consistent and a very good defender. I have him at 4 or 5.
