You can believe he's overrated, which is actually a credible argument. That's fine. Just don't sit here and bore me with the "Nash made him" crap that carries no merit whatsoever. Amare isn't some chump that just got lucky. He's one of the most dynamic offensive talents in the league that can score in a variety of ways (face up, post up, PnR, catch-and-shoot, whatever). You could plug an average PG on that Phoenix offense and he'll still get you 20 PPG. Does playing alongside Nash help? Sure, it does -- he has a great PG initiating the offense that runs an effective PnR. Is Nash the the only PG that knows how to do that? No. Is that the only source of Amare's offense? No. So really, you can sit here and "SHEESH" me all you want but I don't know how to respond to somebody that really believes a statement like that. I mean, Jason Kidd-to-Kenyon Martin is one thing. There, you would actually have a point. This is entirely different but you can feel free to pretend like it's not. As for the attitude/intangible aspect, I'm not going to make any excuses for him. The divorce between he and Phoenix is long overdue. All I'm saying is two things: 1) Phoenix would be extremely foolish to deal him for trash like J.J. Hickson and the rights to buyout Big Z, and 2) If the asking price for Amare is that small, it's VERY hard for me to not have some interest in acquiring him even despite his issues and our lack of need at the position.
