Not sure where you're getting "unbelievable immaturaty". Seems to be a good guy with a solid head on his soliders.

    Also, you misspelled "immaturity".

I don't understand what was so bad about this proposal?

I wonder if Minny fans would be so arrogant.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this and get flamed, but i didn't see this trade proposal anywhere. Its the only one that i think would be fair for both teams.

KG and Jaric for head, sura, howard, and TMAC. It works salary wise

    Houston starting lineup and bench
    Yao/Deke
    Garnett/Hayes/Novak
    Battier/Bogans/Bowen
    Jaric/James/Bogans
    James/Alston/Jaric

    Minnesota starting lineup and bench
    Blount/Madsen
    Howard/Griffin/Madsen
    TMAC/Hassell
    Davis/McCants/Head
    Foye/Banks/Hudson

Minnesota can then trade some of their gaurds for some help up front and they would be a scary team.

Houston obviously gets KG and jaric (who can play both gaurd positions).

while I agree, it's silly for people to think about bringing another Superstar to Houston, I'd love to know if anyone here has ever had back troubles?? these things don't go away, and I can't imagine what anyone could do to "fix" TMac.

If they find some miracle cure, that would allow McGrady to do his thang for 82 games, I want some of it...... I don't care what it would cost.

Your idea is noted but its flawed. The problem here basically is I dont think this trade appreciably improves either team. If T-Mac is there, there is no Yao or anyone significant to play off of in Minnie land. On the other hand, with KG here who would step up at Small forward or Shooting guard to offset the impending double teams that would certainly clog up the paint with Yao and KG in the front court? Rudy Gay is going to compensate T-Mac's numbers? Oh Puhleeze, whatever you have been drinking stay away from it because it is causing you to hallucinate and have amnesia and dejavu at the same time. :D

The idea of a trade is to IMPROVE your team. Yes, T-Mac's back causes uncertainty but would we contend automatically for the crown if KG is here? NO, you dont do that trade. Minnie fans would probably love the possibility of having T-Mac since he has done several punk jobs on the T-Wolves over the last couple of years.

So if I'm reading this right, the idea is to completely a gut a playoff-caliber Rockets team just to swap one superstar for another who is less injury-prone? Then we'd get to start over building a team around Yao and KG.

I think those of you in favor of this trade are thinking, "KG and Yao would definitely get us far in the playoffs." I agree, but it would take 2-3 years to get there. It's not like you add a good player and the other players magically have the skill sets to be the right role players for the new focus of the team. You'd have to add and subtract a few pieces until you get the right formula again. We're pretty close to that now -- is it worth it to trade for KG and have to start the process all over again?

This trade can actually work with some tweaks.

KG & Foye for McGrady, Head, Sura & future pick (or rights to Badiane/Spanoulis).

    T-Wolves & T-Mac:
    McGrady
    Davis
    Griffin
    Hassell
    Hudson

If Sura retires, that would allow Minny more money to go after a legit Center like Zo Mourning.

Houston should also investigate opportunites to trade JuHoward: another complementary vet like Shane Battier - Eddie Jones (even if it means packaging Alston). Then S&T (w/TE) MJ from Toronto.

    Yao
    KG
    Battier
    Eddie Jones
    MJ

Foye can back up both guard spots. Battier plays at his true position. Team just became much better on the boards, D inside the paint as well as on the perimeter - not to mention much better at spacing and shooting. A true JVG type of team.

Split MLE on VSpan & Qyntel Woods (athletic swing - McGrady lite). Sign Lampe to vet min (Deke will not last forever, maybe not even the season).

By rethinking this trade, it could be more than swapping "underachieving" superstars.

Supposedly KG can opt out of his contract after this year, meaning despite McHale's BS statements that they would never trade KG, you KNOW they are well aware of the situation that they might lose him very quickly for nothing.

I bet they would do Foye ($1,967,400 salary) and KG ($21,000,000 salary) for T-Mac ($16,901,500 salary) and Luther ($1,048,800 salary).

    That works cap wise.

Foye can't be traded until December 15.

Neither could Battier until July 12th.

There is no timetable on this trade - other than sometime this season.

KG would not be traded until the deadline.

Also at that point the Rockets would know if T-Mac's back is fine or if he can play but more like 25/5/5 T-Mac instead of 32-6-6 T-Mac.

If he's fine they of course do not do the trade, if he still lingers strictly on the perimeter they would probably listen if the Wolves talked a deal, and Minny will have KG on the block if they struggles this year despite their statements.

Because they cannot just let him opt out and walk for nothing.

I would move heaven and earth to make this trade now.

What would James say after getting his trade kicker then KG is traded away instead?

I don't think the 32-6-6 T-Mac will come back, unless Yao gets injured. If they're both healthy, and T-Mac averages 32-6-6, then Yao is averaging 17-8, everyone is calling him slow, soft, a colossal bust, and the next Shawn Bradley, and this conversation will be moot because the trade du jour will be Yao for KG. Besides, I don't think Yao will regress. 25-6-6 is probably the reasonable number, that's what he averaged in 04-05.

I would just laff my ass off if KG got traded anywhere after Mike James signed with them. It would be icing on the cake that's for sure. :)
