    Well Cuban did say the Mavs would tank if they couldn't sign DeAndre.

    If Dirk asked for a trade to Houston, would Cuban risk a strained relationship with the franchise's best player after he took a pay cut so Cuban could blow up the team and give huge contracts to injured role players? Dirk also has a no-trade clause, so he definitely would choose whatever team he's potentially traded to.

    Dirk isn't coming here. Mark isn't trading him here. Dirk will retire a Maverick.

    Absolutely. It be a good trade for Dirk, us, and Dallas. However, as is often the case, sentiment prevails over rationality in this case.

    Cuban wants to keep Dirk as a Mav forever, but if he really feels the need to give Dirk another chance at a ring as a thank you he'd probably trade him to the East. But definitely not to his division rivals. He already doesn't like our FO anyways.

    That said, if I'm Daryl, I still call. And offer Pap, Dmo, NJ, Prig, Dorsey, and a pick for Harris and Dirk.

    I would take Dirk at the right price. The guy is old and showing signs of it. But in our team he wouldn't have to carry anybody and Dwight could make up for his defensive deficiencies.

    It will never happen though, he is a Mav for life. Olajuwon left on his own, getting Dirk traded would make Cuban super hated in Dallas. That by itself is reason enough not to do it.

    Cuban won't do it. He won't deal with Morey, he won't trade him to the Rockets. If he was to trade Dirk it wouldn't be for peanuts.
