Cavs had 9 rest days and Raptors had only 1 day off after a 7-game series. Yes I understand it's a sort of 'reward' for sweeping a team but 1 day off is ridiculous. You have to practice, watch films, develop strategies, condition and rest in ONE day after a 7 game series... kind of brutal imo

at the same time from the cavs perspective they are doing the same thing after they find out who their opponent is. So with more time you're giving the Raptors, clev is also enjoying it at the same time. it works both ways.

Well cleveland knew it would be either Miami or Raptors so they can practice for both situations, watch games and tapes during these 9 days off.

Pretty sure Raptors were not preparing for the next round during the Heat series

those could be some options but regardless clev isn't really truly diving in on either team with anything that they don't already know about throughout the year. The true breakdown begins when the opponent is set and what that team specific team has been doing and their personnel.

It's all about TV schedule that would maximize ratings.

Even GS didn't get favorable schedules during this two years run after being the top team if the reg season. All the one day rests killed the Spurs too.

Who cares being absolutely fair for all parties? It's just a game, they can play it alright. The better team wins, and a seeding system does already try to reward good performance already, just can't expect a system to be specifically considerate in certain cases.

1 day is a bit unfair. But, I don't see a need for more than 2 days.

No. It's fine the way it is.

As Recently as like 1993 they used to play back to backs in the playoffs. I remember the rockets having a game 3 on Saturday and then a game 4 on Sunday
