Trading top prospects for 1-2 year rental players is what got us in this farm system mess in the first place. No thanks.
LOL...actually you're premise makes sense...lots of options even after we would trade for him. I'd say wait till July 28th see what happens after our trip to Chicago and St Louis..if we are still close you have to think about it!
ok, Catcher is one place where it actually would make sense for them--hadn't thought of that when you said "big bat" generically. Can't see them adding anyone on the IF or OF
They need help, but are they gonna send Lowrie down again? I'm wondering what the associated player move off their 25 man roster will be..
That pretty much counts the Astros out of both options. Astros don't have enough high end prospects nor MLB ready high end players(Norris and Bogusevic aren't high end).
We really need to quit all this trade talk till we can rebuild the farm system. As previously mentioned, it's one of the causes of our current state. We need about 2 or 3 more drafts before we can really start thinking about trading away prospects. I say rideout what you have since were just a few games out with what we have now....
They probably won't, but he is probably exactly what the Blue Jays want in a trade. Check out untouchables from Baseball America: Jordan Lyles & Ross Seaton http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/prospect-bulletin/2009/268579.html
LOLOLOLOLOL....I agreed with him for a long time but being so close and doing way better then I thought during this rough stretch I am jumping on board if not Halladay then look around for a quality 3rd starter.
Actually, it was not signing our draft picks. It's just recently that we even started signing our top draft picks. Honestly though, it was probably a mix of the two.
And free agent signings that cost us picks. Injuries didn't help either(Wade Miller, & Carlos Hernandez).
Haha, cardpire, I hear you. Im all for trading whatever we have for a player that will help us this year...and next, if possible. Im actually more worried about the Cardinals trading for Matt Holliday. That can really bolster their offense.
