This. Canaan's defense has been stellar. I can't believe I just typed that, but it has been. Nobody is good enough defensively to shut down a Tony Parker, Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, etc. in this league today. It is all about making them work for every inch and relying on your help defense. That is what Pat Bev does and that is what Canaan has been doing. Sometimes the results are in your favor and other times guys make tough shots because they are just that damn good. We've seen guys light up Pat Bev and he was 2nd team All NBA defense last year. It happens, but at least Canaan has shown the ability to make guys work and that is all you can ask for. Steph Curry can make any shot from anywhere on the basketball court with a hand in his face. Also, I'm convinced that if Canaan were on a team like say Philly where he could shoot 10-12 shots a game, he would average somewhere between 16-20 points per game. He is that good as a scorer. He can shoot it with range and his handle has gotten really solid. He can pretty much get to any spot on the floor that he wants. I noticed that the game against Boston. I was worried because they had 3 guys known to be good defenders in Bradley, Rondo, and Smart and he was unfazed. Canaan can score and now he is making strides as a defender. He is like our new Mike James without the ego.
I saw terry lose his man/let him go by many times. There is no way he can stay with Curry. Cannan may not be the defender that Pat is, but he is a competitor. He won't let Curry go off.
Terry needs the rest and to be saved for the playoffs, Spurs style. Canaan needs the reps. No brainer.
Leave it alone. I prefer Jason Terry against the warriors 2nd team, as his vet leadership will help guide us to better offensive decisions. Plus he seems to understand how to feed the post, when not too, and those passing angles he uses, just cool.
