I love Scola but he turns the ball over just as much as Yao. Scola should be taking more shots if his guy can't defend him. Robo shut him down during the NO game.
On nights when our jump shots do not fall, we need a post scorer and Scola is the only one on the team that can create his own shots in the post. So yes, Scola should get more shots and he is going to be curcial in determining how far this team will go in the playoffs this year.
I'd like to see him able to score OVER defenders more often when he is in the post. He will eventually struggle with those underhanded scoop shots once the rest of the league gets familiar with his game. I actually can't believe he has gotten away with so many of those shots. It won't last. Hopefully, he is prepared to adjust.
I think scola is really good and should shoot the ball of Pick and rolls.......but i wouldnt make but a couple of plays called his way just yet...even though he will get alot of them farther in his carreer
Probably will have to on occassions...... But I think we are in a situation where anyone can score 20 points a game...during this stretch we've won a few games were both of the superstars were under 20 points for the game or missing all together.
The reason he's making 52.6% is because he takes only GOOD shots. Scola is a smart player, and he plays WITHIN the game. If you want him to take more shots simply for the sake of getting more points, then it'll have an negative effect on his FG% and the overall chemistry of the team. Don't ask him to be someone that he's not. He's gold. Let's not mess with the chemistry.
