i think I would make a trade package of scola + shane battier or hill or jeffries + draft picks to toronto for bosh or phoenix for amare
this isnt 2009, we're fine scoring wise. With options like martin, brooks, yao and scola/amare /bosh we'll be ok in the end of games. We dont need anyone taking over, we need ball movement and guys to share touches.
Bosh? Maybe. Stoudemire? No. Actually I would trade Scola for Aldridge and fillers if there is a chance.
All this being said, it is nice to know that Luis is going to peak just in time for the playoffs. He's got some internal clock set for winning during the big show. Hard to give that up since I don't remember a rockets player really doing that since dream...and maybe barkley. Those guys had another level, and I think scola does to. He was nails on his jumper against the blazers and had a huge game in the paint when yao went down against the lakers.
Bosh - Yes... But I don't think we should give up much else... Amare - I would not do this.... Also I think we should target Marcus Camby AB, Kevin Martin, Ariza, Yao, Bosh and Camby... Now thats a lineup!!! Get 'er done Morey!
Yes for Bosh Maybe for Amar'e (no if Brooks goes out with Scola...) If I had to rate players. Bad- Players that suck and you wonder if they should be in the NBA. Brian Cook Below Average- Guys who are good some nights, good bench depth if someone gets hurt but should not be playing rotational minutes every night. David Andersen Average- Good depth players and guys who will find a way to help out every night. Sometimes starters but mostly bench players. Right now Jordan Hill Good- Players who will beat up on lesser talent, put up solid numbers, sometimes sneak into the All-star game. Some nights Major contributors. LUIS SCOLA. Great- Players who dominate every night. Yao Ming. Bosh is on that last level there, he's a great player. Scola has done this against the likes of the Nets (fighting NOT to be the worst team in NBA history), Pistons, and the Wizards. Not saying it's not impressive, but it is what it is. Bosh can do this night in and night out, no matter who he's playing and that is what puts him on another level. Saying that I hope Scola goes out and drops 30 on the Nuggets too
nah! just watched the GSW-TOR game..Bosh is owned by that unknown Hunter..he has offense but seems don't have that defensive intimidation.
If you have the chance to get Bosh, without having to give up too much (e.g. Scola AND Brooks would be too high a price... Scola AND Battier would be alright) you have to do it! Bosh is one of the best PF in the game today, perhaps only behind Dirk and Duncan. If you have the chance to get a player like him you do it. And this lineup: Brooks/Lowry Martin/Buddinger Ariza/Jeffries Bosh/Hayes Yao/Bosh/Andersen looks like a championship team to me!
Brooks isn't that good. You also need somebody on the frontcourt. Yao only demands fronting in single coverage to kill his offense. Scola just needs single coverage also.
The one thing I'm concerned about with these two is their mentality and ability to work with a team. They both seem to make excuses when things go bad, in turn disrupting the team. And they both put themselves above the team. Anyone remember T-Mac?
The only reason we should trade Scola is if the Yao era ends prematurely and we're ready to blow the team up.
If Scola keeps it up, I think he'll still get traded, but the Rockets won't have to give up as many pieces with him.
