Can't believe somebody hasn't locked you up because of your signature. Damn guys, Wesley and Sura are very important for this team... If we could get SAR, we would have helluvateam.
Signing Shareef makes no sense for us...he's just like Juwan Howard, and plus now there is concern about his health...atleast Howard knows his role with the team already and he is familiar with the settings and the players...
Juwan maybe slow and his short arm jumper is ugly, but he's not dissing the New Jersey Nets or getting POed that Zach Randolf is getting more PT than him! if SAR was REALLY that good, then he would get more PT than Zach. If he goes to the Kings and that team has tanked.
Wesley and Sura are "very important" to this team?! Ok so... Did you see the Rockets/Mavericks playoff series last season? Was I the only one who saw Jason Terry look like Michael Jordan when he killed our "very important" guards... Where were they huh?! Couldn't do much for us in that situation, what makes you think they'll do it for us this year? You know we will run into the same situation, when we play the Spurs, or the Suns, or just about anything else. Sura/Wesley has to be the slowest guard tandem in the Western Conference.
Actaully, signing SAR makes no sense for the Rockets BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO MONEY TO SIGN HIM !!!!!!!!! .. and if anyone says "sign and trade" you might be a MORON (yes, I said that) - Portland already turned down the Rocket's sign and trade offers on another note -
I didn't say he'd be a bad pickup, but if you sign 2 PFs, someone has to be a backup which neither want to be.
I wasn't addressing anyone in particular - I just wanted o throw it out there that it is impossible to do (unless SAR wanted to play here for the minimum), so why debate it. We might as well debate trying to trade for Kobe
First, "Crack is Wack" - Whitney Houston. Second, How will the Rockets sign SAR? We only have the LLE. Oh that is right, we can trade Howard or expiring contract to Portland for a S & T. Wait a minute, that didn't work to get Mighty Mouse. I guess crack is wack!
put SAR at SF where he used to play, put TMac at guard where he played alongside Grant Hill, get a free agent point guard.... this would be great if it could happen... maybe a sign and trade for SAR is possible whereas one for Damon wasn't because perhaps we are willing to part with draft picks or different players to get SAR...
so, we will offer Portland a better deal for a PF, when we already have that positions, than we did for a PG, which we need man, crack IS whack !!!
SAR plays like a small forward... kinda like horry used to play alongside otis thorpe for us... tall frontline...spacing may be a problem but SAR can step just inside the arc and nail em... sura, tmac, sar, swift, yao , or we can go small by putting tmac back at sf and getting two small guards in there.... definitely a versatile team, but we'd have to unload some guards
Yeah for one game. But didn't the wheel turn arround when they came to Houston? Wesley can be and will be very good again. Wesley slow? Come on. I think he will regain his price this year. I remeber him killing us every time we played him at the beginning of this century. He is one of smart guys that you need on your team.
Question: Why talking about SnT with Portland when SAR became a free agent now that the deal is off? In my opinion Portland won't do anything with SAR.
Please DO NOT compare SAR to Robert Horry. Robert Horry is Hall of Fame material. You mention him with Jordan and Magic as Playoff Heroes. SAR can't even have a regular winning season. SAR=selfish Horry=unselfish teammate SAR=complaining, whinny Horry=cool, smooth
Don't mind me. I'm just biding my team until the "Should Rox pursue Brian Grant!??!!?" thread pops up.
i would rather get BRIAN GRANT...he would be a better fit with the rox....he will compliment both Howard/Swift very nicely since they all do different things..SAR is too much like Howard...
