If anything we would have a better gauge towards the all star break. We will not go 82-0 people! It is the regular season but we are still in pre season form, just have to work out the kinks. I am pretty sure that they Rockets, as well as anybody, knows that they have to get better on defense but that will come with everyone knowing their roles and having more than *3* games under their belts.

NO! With all due respect, a ridiculous thread. It's way too soon to even consider such a thing, in my opinion.

LOL, maybe not championships, but they sure have a lot more playoff wins than do in recent times. :(

I voted yes simply because I wanted to be different and unique...wait, 24 other people voted yes too? DOH!!!!

With good perimeter defense, even softies inside players can play and the team still be winning...

OTOH, with the lousy perimeter D...Even a tandem Rodman and Mutombo and their prime....would suffer a lot trying to fix the lack of perimeter D.

Yes, this question needs to be asked around Christmas time, not 3 games into the season.

Look, I think everyone here with the exception of posters that root for other teams like Memphis X are disappointed with the Rockets' start. However, Adelman is still trying to figure out how to play essentially 2 different teams, one with Yao and one without. I am really hoping (and I would say Adelman is too) that the Yao experiment with his minutes will go away and go away soon. But I think it is very difficult to justify in getting rid of someone when they are doing what you asked them to do even if that means it hamstrings them and the team.

I say any coach who loses 2 games in a row is incompetent. 3 games is an outright travesty.

Screw 22 wins in a row, that was all Yao and Tmac. Screw the first playoff series win since forever. We want blood.

I voted "No" btw. In case you didn't detect the sarcasm

JVG wouldn't be a bad coach for a bunch of players incapable of playing defense.

No, he is a better coach than JVG. JVG is known for his defense (not his offense), but Adelman has coached good defensive teams as well.

He is an excellent coach dealing with a team that has undergone two identity changes in the past two years:
    1. Life without Yao last year. They had to become more faced paced, had no interior shot blocker thus suffering majorly on interior defense, and had no stars.

    2. Life with Yao again after major lineup changes in the past few years. Gone: Landry, Ariza, Deke, T mac Added: KMartin, Hill, Miller, Lee and now Dampier. And Yao, now playing limited minutes to prevent career ending injury and to save him for the playoffs.

There is no one to replace him. Mike Brown is a much worse coach than Adelman, if you think RA rides out his players without adjustments, Mike Brown got fired for just that and was way too comfortable and Lebron dependent. He never made adjustments.

The only people I would feel could do the job just as good as RA are Larry Brown (not happening), Tom Thibodeau (not happening, and still unproven as a head coach), Doc Rivers and of course the HOF guys Phil, Pops, and Sloan.

He is a top tier coach and was the coach who got us past the first round in the playoffs after years of failure by other coaches including JVG.

You don't fire HOF coaches like Adelman. That would only set us back even further.

Adelman is fine for now. Only because finding a good coach in the NBA is harder than any other league. I think Adelman is the best we could do right now. I would have been happy had we kept Tom Thibodeau as our coach. That seemed to be a bad move letting him leave. I really think we should have kept him and made him our coach. Now we have to waite to find a talent somewhere. Hey i dont like Shane Battier as a player that much but as a coach? I think Battier would be a wonderful teacher as a coach.
