Probably the same things he's tried all year and before in Orlando. Whatever therapies he's been trying just isn't working and won't get him back before 5 weeks healthy. I have never heard of acupuncture making things worse. It's time for Tracy to try something new. And if he's like me and it cures something that I thought would never be 100% again (chronic pain in my ankles, both of which I broke) then Tracy will be all ready for next year or maybe, whatevery deity willing, be back to finish this season.
agreed. My mom had chronic pain in her left knee for almost 14 years. She tried many different therapies, drugs, even switching several doctors. She finally fed up and tried accupunture. She could tell a difference after the first session. After a series of sessions, she's been pain free for years. I don't think accupunture solves all chronic pain problems, but I think T-Mac should give it a try.
Try some Indian ayurvedic therapy while you are at it. The homeopathic medication and massage therapies my buddy received cured his herniated disc.
Ive heard a lot of neat stories about acupuncture. And if I were in serious back pain, Id certainly consider it before I would surgery. I do know someone, though, who saw an acupuncturist for back pain...thing is his back is healed, but the pain is now in his leg and he walks with an ugly limp. Sounds like with Tracy's current injury, they have it pinpointed, so it'll be fine after the 5 or so weeks. But we just hope he figures out something to do about his chronic problems. I hope they are considering all possible solutions. If he ever shakes his back issues completely it'd be like a minor frickin miracle.
I'm not a Doctor but I do belive our body have something you can not see it from microscope. I have a friend when his wife give birth( I don't know how to say, it need operation to take the baby out, not nature birth) by operation, they don't want any chemical in Mother's body(they think that may not good for baby), so they chose using acupuncture anesthesia. After the operation I talked with my friend he said his wife do not feel any pain just some strange feeling in her stomach. So I really belive it then although I can not understand it. Why not give a try.
I am not this is the case here, but many American trained doctors do not believe in treatments like acupunture because it is not hard science currently, even thought it has been known to work in Asia for thousands of years.
that's the thing with western science - it's very narrowed. anything that science cannot explain is considered strange and not dealt with. just because it's something you cannot grasp does not mean it's not real. remember when people thought the earth was flat?
McGrady needs Rolfing. Structural bodywork, deep myofascial work with an educated skillful Rolfer who can loosen the sheathes around his tightened musculature, and not necessarily on his back - those tissues are probably too long already, long and tight (like your arms get when you try to carry luggage too far away from your body - too hard to do their jobs from that position). McGrady needs a Rolfer to lengthen some of the tissues on the front of his body to take the load off his back. Lost of professional athletes have gotten Rolfing, and I wonder if McGrady is in the know... anyone know???
Based on what I learned, the mainstream western medicine establishment agrees that acupunture is effective in pain relief with almost no side effects. So I think it would be nice for T-Mac to try it just to feel better. However, don't expect it can cure his back problems.

I don't understand why people have a problem with this thread. I don't see why he wouldn't try it, it couldn't hurt. if I were rich, and had back problems, I would try anything that wouldn't cause further problems.
