If Jazz won it all, AND Rockets was the only one that had brought them to game 7, then we should really relook our this year's "achievement"
corollary to the T-mac curse: The team that beats T-mac's team in the 1st round usually goes far in the playoffs
The Jazz won't win it all. In the next series they won't have an advantage at PG or down low, no matter who they play. And they definately won't have any kind of advantage against Detroit (yes I am asusming they come out of the East).
Hellz yeah. If he hadn't blown that call when AK47 threw it out of bounds, or if he had secured one of the 3 defensive rebounds in the final minutes of game 7, it would be the Rox on their way to the WCF instead of the Jazzholes.
I notice a pattern that all the teams that are still playing have really strong players at the 4 and 1, which just happen to the be the Rox weakest. HMMMMMM.
the Jazz are yet to meet a contender in the west, there win over GS does not prove anything. Bottom line the ROX choked against the Jazz and not becasue the Jaaa played well buth rather becasue we sucked. Plus why shouldn't we feel jealous that we are not where the Jazz are right now, that really could have been us.
I agree this poll is curiously framed, but the spirit of the question has merit, and it's something I've been thinking about, too. It's not wildly irrelevant. If the Jazz win the title, that changes the benchmark. Originally, we were disgusted because we thought--we knew--we were a better team, and that the Jazz was (were?) just first round fodder. So our loss was that more disappointing. But if we lose to the eventual champs, the loss doesn't sting quite as much.
i don't see how the jazz is related to his retirement. sure, the jazz outplayed the rockets but prompt jvg to retirement? no.
I'm curious to know how the prospect of Utah winning (or even going to) the finals affects the fact that the Rockets lost in the first round of the playoffs. Furthermore, how should this affect the coaching status and job security of JVG. It seems to me that they are as related as giraffe is to rubber band.
Or here's a different way to think about it. Let's say you're in a Calculus class. The entire semester, you've been working hard and doing well-- you're on track for a B+. Then the final comes. And you get a 67. You're pissed. The Rockets got a 67 on their Final. But what I think the original poster is getting at is that maybe, just maybe, the final exam was graded on a curve. What if it turned out that the average score of your class was a 52--the teacher just gave you a much more challenging test than anyone expected--so your adjusted grade was a C+, meaning your overall letter grade is still a B?
Then the Jazz is a good team.
Furthermore, how should this affect the coaching status and job security of JVG.
It is not that bad if we've lost to a champ by one rebound.
It seems to me that they are as related as giraffe is to rubber band.
They are all made up with C,H,O and N. Seriously, I may be viewed as looking for the excuse for JVG to stay, but this is NOT my original thought. I am really afraid a new coach available now would even be worse.
Dismantle "our" team? Dismantle "OUR" team????? Just who the hell do you think you are? I see people here acting all as if Jeff turned a championship-caliber ballclub into a bottomdweller. In fact, the exact opposite has happened. WTF is up with the JVG haters?????
