I love that none of your option are, he played bad or shot bad or passed horribly. Lot of reasons to a bad game for any player, not just him being left out.

Props for making a Lin thread that is not only readable, but also actually somewhat compelling.

Jeremy Lin should be involved in the offense. He is another weapon that would be very effective when Harden & Howard are drawing the double-teams.

He can shoot as much as he wants, as long as they're dropping at a good clip. The problem is he gets too tentative sometimes. For someone who works so hard, he seems to become timid after a couple of consecutive turnovers. In some games, his body language is a major warning sign, and he becomes a pylon on the perimeter.

If he finds his place next to Howard & Harden, as I believe he will, then he will get his shots. Having a 3rd/4th option as good a Lin can be very valuable.

I was using the same kind of stuff the OP was using for his arguments. If you believe in the OP's logic, then you have to believe in mine. Hopefully, you believe neither. But both cases are as nonsensical as it gets.

    Lol

That was a wild game. :)

The one game Lin fan boys keep bringing up is that Lin scored 38 against SA. I even last week said back, "but we lost." The Lin fan said back, "so what?"

How can you get through to people this clueless?

Yeah, I got some weird responses also from people deferring to that game.

One dude - "Has James ever scored 38 against the Spurs?! Didn't think so."

Me - "If you want to get technical he did score 30...in the first half of one of our earlier match ups that we still lost."

    One dude - "30 isn't 38"

    lol what

It's up to him to define himself in the offense.

This thread is sad. We have two superstars and somebody's worried about a decent role player. Insane.

Went to Overtime fool, and not to dump it on the Coach. But during the OT round, Lin was out and BEV stunk it up. By the time he came back in GG.

    can't you remember?

C'mon now, enough of these threads......

Sadly (for his legions), with his salary, the bench is not even an option.

These threads don't continuously need to be made. You know what's going to happen in them. Give it a rest.

In the starting lineup he's going to naturally take a back seat and play more as a playmaking PG who facilitates the offense, spaces the floor, and gets others involved. He's playing along two superstar players, and another really-really good offensive SF.... there are only so many basketballs to go around.

If Lin fans want Jeremy Lin to be the primary scoring option in a unit, he's going to need to come off the bench in a 6th man role.

Its not shame to concieve the idea even though Jeremy has vocalized how he wouldn't be thrilled about it (even though I think he would do what is best for the team in a heartbeat). Even a team like the Brooklyn Nets this year are going to be looking at the same issue with their proposed starting 5. I think you might eventually see a hall of fame type of player like Paul Pierce move to a bench type of role, or the 2nd highest paid player in the league Joe Johnson be put in a bench role.

The 6th man scoring option is not a shameful role to be in ON THE RIGHT TEAM.

Again, I'm not saying Jeremy should absolutely be in that role, just that if Lin and his fans want so desperately for him to be a volume scorer, that's where he's going to end up as a best fit.

I personally want to see him start another year at PG. I think he can do alot of the same things that Jason Kidd did for those Mavs teams a few years back if he can be much more of a consistent threat from 3 point land, and do a good job of being a vocal leader on both ends of the floor.
