Cool stuff. Not all judges are Republican/Conservative/Goody_Two_Shoes, but I agree they will like a suit guy over a shirt guy. It sounds fair and all for you and me, but the man isn't used to wearing "suits." He'll have FAKE written all over him. "FAKE, FAKE, FAKE, FAKE, FAKE." - Elaine
wear what makes you comfortable, provided your attorney doesn't give you instruction otherwise...but if you were my client i wouldn't ask you to wear a suit to trial. particularly not in a case with $5,000 in controversy. bench trial or jury trial, by the way?
And yet that still doesn't explain your generalization. So if you're not Republican OR Conservative OR Goody Two Shoes, you can't wear or prefer people to wear suits in your court room?
a. Listen to MadMax b. don't speak to the judge unless spoken to. c. address the judge as "your honor". d. don't wear a suit. You want to look respectful and broke. Somebody wants you to pay. Look like you can't while still being respectful to the court. e. take out earrings, lose extraneous jewelry, cover your tats (if any) if possible. (knew that neck tattoo that says "F0CK the POLICE" was a bad idea...
