Shh... Don't tell people that, otherwise some mac users might switch to PC and vide versa. Then Mac haters and Mac fanboys might commingle and then realize they have more in common with each other than Steve Jobs or Bill Gates... Shoosh!! All joking aside, there really isn't that much of a difference between the two, it's honestly becoming more of a matter of taste at this point...
Are you referring to the $1000 laptop with the Core 2 Duo processor? Lets be honest, this Supra engine you speak of, wasn't even in a Supra the first place. The OS is what makes Macs special, maybe design, but not its internal components.
Because the percentage of artistic minds that have computer science degrees is far below average? In another words, who cares what computer an artist uses? It might be because they want a trendy machine and want it to have all the fun stuff without having to think about features too much. also a disposable income.
That's 100% correct. The OS is the OS. The hardware doesn't matter. But the reason why Apple has the market share it does is due to marketing. People associate that little apple with coolsville. Here's a cheap hackintosh for people who want to try out OSX.
most of the software I use doesn't run well on Apple -- without the PC mode or whatever. but given the opportunity to buy a near new macbook for $400, I think I'd buy! Did I miss the question ....
So your argument for paying a premium are its looks? And thats what you really care about? WTF are you talking about, weren't you referring to putting OSX in a PC? So what does this have to do with anything?
Wow. You really wanna have this out? Ok... PC, PC, mac, PC to answer your question. Ever heard of avid? Most movies use it to cut video on... you guessed, PC. 3d animation through programs like 3ds max run mostly on PC. Stars Wars did all their effects on wait for it, wait for it, PC. Think before you speak. I didn't diss on macs, rather, all I said was that his analogy was wrong. Putting a supra engine in a focus would be awesome, not bad.
Yeah, but an iPad spec wise is rather weak. If you combo an iPad with a good desktop or laptop, it's a worthy investment, but alone it's rather disappointing. Plus, there is no way you get out the door for $400 with an iPad. Out the door, with everything you need it's more near the lines of $650...
I hate itunes! If I had money I would buy a mac though. But you can get much more "computer" if you buy a PC.
You have to build a PC in order to get it fully compatible with OSX, I don't think there is a PC on the market (besides maybe netbooks) that can be fully compatible with OSX
Haha, I was being sarcastic. I know how to spot a virus or harmful file when I see one. And all I have is Symantec Anti-virus. Where are all these other gajillion antivirus programs that Macbook users tell me I need to protect myself?

Actually, it's extremely easy to find. So easy, in fact, that all you had to do was read this thread. This very page, to be precise.
I had a bad experience with an Apple iBook and will never buy another Apple product ever again. That being said, if this is close to brand new and is the latest model, you won't get better than $400 and should definitely take it. Load Windows 7 onto it FTW.
Second day on the new macbook pro I just bought. First impression is that it's definitely well built and appealing. It's easy to see how Apple has simplified things. However, being a first time mac user, I will say there is definitely a bit of a learning curve. As of now, I just feel slow using operating system and performing daily task. For those who own a mac, how long did it take you to learn everything?
