he's talking about going to a game right now. the rockets won a title in 1995. there's not one player on that team who he will be seeing play now.

right now, the rockets are fighting for a lottery spot. that sucks, but it's true. so if you're asking me right now, which is the better event, i'm going with an astros game. and from the numbers, apparently most of houston would agree with that.

if he's a nutzo rockets fan, he probably doesn't even ask this question to begin with. he goes toyota center without even asking. but he did ask.

True, but it's the last game of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if Yao sits it out.

The fence-sitting isn't healthy, but I'm definitely leaning towards the Astros game at this point. More than anything, there's a much better chance that I could talk my family into going with me if it was the Astros. (they surprised me last year with a trip to a Rockets game against the Bobcats, the only game they've ever been to except for the Hakeem Rocket finally, and we lost... it was the one right before the Jon Barry/David Wesley trades... not a good time to try and defend the Rockets...)

Anyway, the Astros game just seems like it will be more fun to attend. I am a big baseball fan, but it's always second to basketball for me. But the more I think about it, I think I just wanted to go to the Rockets game out of loyalty more than anything else.

    Thanks for the input guys.

    :)

Rocket crowds = corporate fat cats (besides the Rocket Rowdies)

Astro crowds = Lots of families. I have never NOT had a great time at an Astro game.

Texan crowds = Drunken tailgate crazies. Lot's of fun, except for last year. Hopefully things will get back to normal this year.

Except this thread was about comparing going to a game this year. If those titles more than a decade ago make Rockets games more enjoyable, more power to you. For most people, they'll take the team that's won playoff series in 2 of the last 3 years including a league championship only one season ago.

And yes, it's Drayton's fault. Cheap b*stard only had the third highest payroll in all of baseball with more than $100 million in committed salary. He's toying with our hearts again!

in the baseball playoff system, you dont make the playoffs when you're the sixth best team in your conference/league.
