I have a Nexus 7 tablet that I got about 6 months ago. Maybe 3 months ago, the speaker was blown so now it makes a vibrating noise when the sound is on. It isn't too troublesome since most things I do on it don't need high sound fidelity. It's most bothersome playing music, but 95% of the time, I'd be using it with headphones anyway. Next most bothersome might be youtube videos, which I don't do much of. As I understand it, Asus has a manufacturer's warranty for 1 year, so I could potentially send it in and have it repaired. But I hear very bad things about the customer experience in trying to exercise the warranty. So, should I bother?
As a Nexus 7 owner (2012 edition) I personally would send it in. Especially if you don't' plan on getting a new tablet anytime soon.
If it's under waranty. Yes, get it fixed. If you'd pay out of pocket....no. Just use a blue tooth speaker, it would be a better expense.
I'd send it in, the bluetooth speaker is a good option since you can get them for less than 30 bucks now
