Dude, for $600 bucks you can buy six whores at El Paso, buy them all dinner, get plastered, and have money left over for the flight back to Houston... if you go across the border.
hah, a cis major doesn't know that most land line broadband connections are multiple times faster than 3g (especially now due to all the traffic)?

Not worth it. It doesn't even support flash. A smart phone or a laptop even a netbook can do all that and so much more for that price.
everytime I see someone on public transport flicking away at their Ipad, I seriously want to punch them in their yuppy face.
I want one but I have a thing against Apple's closed ecosystem. The flash support is a deal breaker for me. I do admit, I get envious every time I see one on a plane though.
I am a IT Manager by trade so I had to baby sit a Ipad for about 3 months. At first I was like what am I really going to do with. But after spending some time with I did found some usefull things to do with it. Its a great Netflix and Divx player on the go. Also its a kindle book reader when you are indoors. Its also use full for reading emails but not really replying to them. Also reading the Clutch fans bbs. I had to give the Ipad to a user going to india and I can honestly say I don't miss having it at all. If you really like the form factor dell is coming out with a netbook that converts to a tablet. http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/dell_previews_duo_convertible_tablet_notebook I would wait on that if your really like that form factor. Everthing I did on it I could do on other hardware. So in short save your money
putting it's price point aside, i suppose the most important factor is what you plan on using it to do. i rarely watch video on it. i am a voracious internet reader and i am on the go all the time and always have it on me. love it.
you can download both youtube and justin tv apps plus I have slingbox so I wouldn't have any problem if what you say was true.
You represent everything that's wrong with people. Why the **** do you care what that person likes? Just mind your own ****ing business and let them enjoy whatever they have. People should be content with what they have and not feel they have to put down everyone who doesn't share the same likes.
Your point only stands for now... Mac has fewer security problems not because they are good, just because no one in the pro gives a rat ass. Also as someone pointed out, Ipad wasn't faster either hardware wise... actually worse than iphone 4 i say. As Opticon said, the reason why you get an ipad should come down to what you gonna use it for. Finally most Apple product sells on the cool factors instead of real usefulness or true value of their products unless you are graphic designer or music producer. Apple's consumer products are all overpriced gadget, like how people like to get those huge expensive chromed rims on their cars. If you have to question if ipad worth that $600, my best advice is to not buy it. As many other posters said, that $600 can go much further for you with other alternatives.
And why do you care what I think about people flaunting their stupid IPad. If you feel offended because YOU own an Ipad...well...good.
