I remember when I delivered pizza, I had this order for $35.
It was 2 pizzas, a 2 liter of soda and some cheesy bread.
So the guy pays me exactly $35 and I give him this look
like "no tip!?!" , he tells me "hey man times are tough".

And I'm like so why are you ordering $35 dollars worth of pizza?

Some people are just cheap bastards.

If he was expecting the tip, then hopefully it is a joke.
If he thought the guy pocketed his customer's $5 of change, then somewhat more understandable, but not worth a thread or worrying about.

Nah I don't care about the $5, that's for the tipping ettiquette thread. I was just thinking about giving a good customer a heads up to make sure she knows where all her money went if she didn't already.

You're biased because you lost a tip. She and the guy are both technically customers, she very likely has a better or more important relationship with him than she does with you; and might just find another food-delivery service that doesn't waste her time to call her friends thieves.

Next time just tell him the food costs 45 and pocket the 5 yourself.

I don't think you should say anything. If he did in fact pocket the $5 and not give it to her, that's between him and her to resolve. That is if she even cares since it's only $5. You're just the delivery guy, that's all. Like you said, she's a long time customer and she will most likely be back. It shouldn't matter to you, unless you're upset about not receiving the tip. If that's the case, tough luck man. Don't sweat it though

Was the orderly white? If so, he was probably being racist towards you. I usually call 911 when I see or hear racism.

Is $5 worth losing a customer over? Do you think you have more pull with your customer than her employee? If not, then I would move on.

That story was an awful waste of my time. I was expecting that you found out your good friend was cheating on his girlfriend who you've been in love with for years. Now posting this response I just wasted more time. This whole thread is fail.

Oh the delivery jobs.....I remember when I worked at Burger Boy in College Station. That lasted about 1 month before I said F this. My final straw was some hippy who owned a guitar store told me to "keep the silver man"....I think it was a nickle....can't remember.

For the dudes that says its only 5 bucks, people that work on those kind of jobs, tips make most of their pay check. It maybe 5 bucks only but it adds up at the end.
