Why not. We gave it to Rafer after 2 preseason games.

Bob was a good role player for this team, no doubt. But the fact is he played a half a season for this team. Steve plays just as hard as Sura. But you cannot compare the talent level between the two.

Yeah our starting unit played well yesterday, but they haven't played well consistently so far in the season. Rafer ultimatly, IMO, won't cut it, especially in the playoffs.

James needs to come off the bench, at the 2. Francis can start and have Rafer run the show with the 2nd team if need be. Can also use Head if James isnt doing as well.

Francis looked alot better last night than he did against Phoenix. He may or may not get many minutes tomorrow night, but he will be a regular. Stamina is still a bit of an issue for him, though it's becoming less of one each week. I imagine once its really a non-issue, he very well could be starting.

IMO he should comwe off the bench but play more minutes than Rafer , I want him there in the 2nd quarter and the beginning of the 4th when T-Mac is out to handle the ball and create , he should also finish the games along with T-Mac and Yao.

If Francis can be a distributor who is satisfied being a distant 3rd option, he can start. I have trouble he can accomodate himself with this role long-term. It might work for a while, but he'd have to change the way he plays.

If he wants to play at all like he did last time here, he's much better off coming from the bench.

if he came off the bench but played more minutes than rafer id be pleased. sorta like the jason terry situation in dallas. he comes off the bench but plays more or about the same number of minutes as the starting PG

I let Rafer starts if he takes 5 or less shoots per game.

I really like that idea. Rudy T did that with Scotty Brooks and Sam Cassell under the idea of bringing in an aggressive high energy PG late in the game to provide some spark when the starters might be flagging. I think Alston still has a place on this team as he is the best ball handler but I could definately see Francis coming in late in the game when the Rox seem to be running out of gas.

If Steve can accept the fact he is just Steve and not the Franchise, I say let him start. You guys forgot why we got rid off him in the first place. I still have nightmares of Stevie dribbling the 24-second clock away.....

I know. I'm one of those who believes that Steve probably has enough left in the tank to be an effective weapon. But what on earth makes anyone think he's suddenly become the facilitator we need with McGrady and Yao on the court? Steve's game has always been best suited for attacking the rim, not distributing. Let him come off the bench and do exactly that. He and Mike James could create some serious (if unorganized) havoc.

I'm just gonna say this again. Lot of guys may not agree with me but Francis has still got his skills and he can still get up with the best of them. That being said, he needs to be our third option scoring threat to take pressure off Yao and T-Mac. With Francis you will keep defenses honest.

    Celtics Big Three 10-1

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen

    Rockets Big Three 7-6

Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, "Steve Francis"

You don't play Francis and you hamstring the Rockets. You don't play Ray Allen and sit him on the Celtics Bench and there is absolutely no way that the Celtics are 10-1 at this point. If we had Francis from the beginning we wouldn't have had that 6 game losing streak. Adleman should just quit being stubborn and look at his team with an objective eye. No more doghouses. Put your best team out there.

Since when did Francis become part of a "Big 3?" I don't see a Big 3. I see a Big 2. Francis isn't even in the same stratosphere as Yao and Tracy these days.

He can be a very useful player for us without being a star.

I vote neither, Fancy should be sent back to the doghouse until he can be traded.
