No. Houston has too many asians. We asians save those plastic bags and use them to store lunches, make ice bags, and throw away trash bags for smaller trash cans. Why would you do that to us?!
Looks like Austin takes the lead over Houston once again on a major environmental issue. Wait for Houston to follow Austin and make the bags illegal in about two years.
I like them too, free bin liners. The biodegrable bags crumble after after a while. They disintegrate to the touch and it's a mess. I can't stockpile too much of those ones. I'm here in DC for a little while now. They charge .05 cents per plastic bag/paper bag at the grocery store. I see about 75% of the customers using a reusable grocery bag. Even thought it is .05 cents per bag it sometimes makes me consciously try to fit everything into one bag. I believe they charge for plastic bags and paper bags in Maryland too.
