Should Chunk Hayes start at C on the opening night?

Nothing is guaranteed. Andersen would hopefully be good enough to start, but he'll have to earn his spot just like luis did. I expect some serious growing pains in the first few months.

Durvasa, I'll go with the latter in that they place a high value in what they do and bring.

    Scola - C
    Landry - PF
    Ariza - SF
    ? - SG
    Brooks - PG

Not the best but that is what I see on opening night given the current line up.

Yes we should start Hayes to get as many balls as possible ofr the John Wall sweepstakes.
But what I find real interesting is, with Rick A. being a great offensive coach as he is, Chuck played better offense under Van Gundy then he does Rick. I remember watching Chuck in his Rocket debut and he had a double double in that game 10, 10

Wow Scola would be really happy, he will likely throw one of his best years to the trash can, play a position that is not his and likely won´t be able to perform at his best.

Brooks may be happy because he will be geting most shots, and Ariza because he got his paycheck, but this might justt suck for the team veterans.

I am the only one pissed here because of we eternally waiting for Yao and T-Mac to contribute?

If we don´t get at least a quality (not star, but reliable) SG and a serviceable C, this has been the most dissapointing season by far. And i expect Scola, Battier and everyone here that showed pride last season to make the PO just so they show Morey he should have trusted them.

Chuck is so fast that he's able to guard a pg.

Chuck Wagon is still the best C on this team. Unfortunately.

You cannot start a player in his VERY FIRST NBA GAME unless he is a talented 1st round rookie like Rose or Mayo.

I don't care how short our team is, Anderson is not proven at NBA level. He will play bad if he is thrusted into such a big role from the beginning. At least ease him into the starting role over the span of 8-10 games.

Scola and Hayes can hold the fort down at the C position for that time. It will only be a short period of time.

Anderson can quite easily play off the bench and get increased minutes depending on what he proves to RA. You never know, he might play incredible in his first 2 games, THEN RA can start him. Till then, we have to bide our time with him.

It wasn't a useful skill until after we traded that pg to the Magic. :)

The only reason he score more points under JVG was because he got more minutes. Under Rick, I see things from Chuck that I haven't seen before. Not that he's a better finisher, but you don't see those terrible misses anymore. He's also a pretty decent entry passer. I honestly don't think Anderson will start right away, and if he does, it doesn't rule out the possibility that chuck will be the starter later on. Rick appears offensive minded, but he is actually very defensive minded.
