Because Morey totally doesn't discuss signings with Adelman beforehand...

    HayesFan I concur.

    The rest of you guys....
Last season was last season, our team is looking alot different now, and so do the Lackers (pun intended) and the rest of the league.
hanging our laurels on "we took the lackers to seven" wont help us next season.

Right now the with or without Chuck or anyone else we got on the team other than Yao starting as center we wont be contending for anything.

Illmatic is clearly not a big fan of Chuck Hayes... but Andersen is being added to be a future backup for Yao.

He will most likely start as our center this next season though if he is as good a scorer as he his being made out to be. No matter how good our D is right now there are not alot of scoring options out there for the Rockets.

If he is not starting at center then we have the option of running out Scola and Hayes or Scola and Landry as our C, PF combos..

I don't think we will be going after another big if we anticipate Yao coming back after this next season. If we do then it will involve Tracy's contract and Landry and at this point I am not a big fan of the idea.

Lets not start throwing in personal attacks...

Illmatic does have some valid points... Chuck doesn't have any offense and people laugh when he shoots freethrows... :(

But we still love the Hayes because everything else he does for us on the court. :)

You mean the kind of things Morey talks about with his little mathmatics scheme he used to get a job as GM and then signs players totally opposite?

well it depends on how well R. Anderson do during training camp, if the coaches and staff feels like hes ready then he might start...but i think the starting front court during the first few games will be Chuck hayes and scola.

Simply compare it per-minute to Luis Scola (http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=AJG&seasoncode=E2006):

    Scola - 15.5/5.9 over 26:28, or 21.1/8.0 per 36 minutes
    Andersen - 11.1/4.1 over 21:02, or 19.0/7.0 per 36 minutes

So, 2 points and 1 rebound less than Scola per 36 minutes. You're complaining about that?

Don't get on durvasa, he knows what he's talking about. There are so few people here that do I have to defend the ones that will speak up when people talk like morons.

hahahahahahahahahaha, lol i thought I was the only one who noticed that lol

Morey is looking to run, the only reason Battier and Hayes are still on the team is because no team wants them and even those that do, offer A-hole deals

Do you even watch the Rockets?

Battier is awesome at finding the open spot, and his back cuts are top notch.

Hayes runs the floor just fine, I never see him out there wheezing like you would Yao Ming and the sort.

Battier and Hayes are excellent players under the Van Gundy system but not under the system Morey and Adelman are planning on implementing this season.

Incase you didn't know, I am not exactly Luis Scola's #1 fan...

Scola wasn't ready to jump right into the starting lineup even though Morey and Adelman desperately wanted him to. And even to this day the he hasn't really outplayed Chuck Hayes. If Van Gundy was still here there is no way he would start over Hayes. It's Adelman's love affair with offense that allows him to start. He scores and thus he starts. Nevermind he doesn't exist on the defensive end. Hayes' defense is just as valuable as Scola's offense. Honesly, if Hayes averaged 10ppg I still think Scola would get the nod with Adelman at the helm.

In his defense though (no pun intended), in the Euroleague, Scola's numbers stayed consistent for 5-6 straight seasons. Look at Anderson's up and down numbers...

That's not what they're publicly saying. Both Battier and Hayes are continually being mentioned by Morey et al. as key pieces for the coming season. Perhaps that's too build up their trade value, or maybe the Rockets actually value what they do.

Morey is looking for undervalued players... Andersen is undervalued... hence we get him at a bargain.

Don't underestimate the man's intelligence. He's trying to put together as much talent as possible and relying on Adelman to use them to the team's advantage.

I am almost as big a Morey fan as I am a Chuck fan.

If the Aussie doesn't deserve to start when the season rolls around, he won't start.
