Well, Rashard Lewis participated in the contest and only managed 7 points I guess last year, he's a pretty good 3pt shooter as well and he made 2.8 3pt jumpers per game. ;) So I hope he would consider not putting his name in.

    Pierce
    Frye
    Gallinari
    Curry
    Morrow
    Dudley

Would make the most sense in my opinion, maybe add Redick.

To be in the 3 point contest, you have to have one of these things.

    1. High number of 3 pointers made.
    2. High 3 point percentage.
    3. Defending Champ
    4. "Superstar" quality

Brooks is 2nd in the league in 3's made behind Gallinari, so he might have a chance. It depends on how many spots are available behind Cook and Frye now. I could see Gallinari, Morrow, Curry, and Pierce beating him out.

AB SHOULD NOT be in the 3pt contest...

3point shootouts are only for those scrubs who can only do one thing on the court...SHOOT 3s...with the exception of Dirk and Ray Allen.. Last 3 years winners: Kapono (twice) and Daquan Cook.

I actually forgot that was still apart of the All Star game competitions.

Did they ever extend a invitation to Steve Novak or Luther Head?

    http://www.nba.com/history/allstar/shootout_alltime_winners.html

Or of course.. you know Larry Bird.... who won it three times and quit competing in it because no one could beat him. He even guaranteed a win in his first one.

But yeah usually the guy that wins.. is a freak three point specialist. But a lot of solid star players have participated in it too.
