Apparently Adelman doesn't have an answer either because he likely isn't going to follow your advice and he's not going to bench Yao. He hasn't done it yet. So there's my answer.
Yao was doing well too, +14 in seconde half with limited minutes even though he was never in his rythym. RA didn't want to change the momentum, it was fine. But put Yao back is definitely not a sin.
Really? Didn't Yao abuse Shawn Bradley? If Okur is so fleet of foot why doesn't Sloan just have him break Yao off the dribble?
True, but he isn't going to take Yao off Boozer either (if the Okur is also in the game). Unless we go to a zone or something ... which is doubtful.
dude, the only reason RA benched Yao is his foul trouble, that is to say, he is way more precious in coach's system than you can possibly understand. We just protect him in case of foul out. Later on, cuz all the clutch shots made by our rookies have secure the win, so no need for Yao to come back again when it is important time to stop their perimeter shots. If you start this thread only cuz RA's decision tonight, sharpen your basketball knowledge and think it over every time before starting a "discussion"
Wasn't his problem tonight was that he was too aggressive, hence all the aggressive rebounds and also high amount of fouls? Did you say before, you would trade some of Yao's efficiency for heightened aggression?
You're right, and the only answer I can see is for the Rockets to come up with their own offensive game plan and be aggressive against Utah.
Yao had one bad regular season game against Utah...too inconclusive. IF he struggles again, there should be an inclination to bench, but you can't just bench Yao on the basis that he *might* have a bad game. Doesn't anyone remember the 39/11 he put on them a year ago? Anyways, put Yao on AK-47. Battier on Okur. Hayes/Scola/Landry on Boozer. Same thing as Adelman does for Toronto (Yao on Moon). AK's not exactly a very sharp shooter the last time I checked.
Then how do you know if Okur is faster then Yao!? Wow. Yeah, I think it's a good idea for you to leave this thread as well.
Decided by refs. They don't call offensive fouls when Blazer players keep jumping on Yao, but call offensive foul on Yao simply because he's taller. Of course, they call offensive fouls against Yaoo on flops too. Nobody can dominate with that kind of officiating against him.
Your point was Sloan should let Okur break Yao off the dribble, and I clearly replied that Yao doesn't guard Okur. Now you just changed your point yet again. Just stop. please. I'm done.
One bad game from Yao and a discussion about benching Yao. Likewise same thing happen to McGrady if McGardy had a bad game. Start Yao when we are facing Miami and Orlando.
