Never said i bought into that bullcrap...it's called stating what the announcers on the tv were saying. It's just another point of view that some people had. And the announcers had nothing to do with the Suns...they were on ESPN....

I'm just saying that it might be taken into consideration..

After the Ridiculous Offensive Fouls on Duncan
If they don't suspend Diaw and Stodemire
they might as well Crown the Suns Champions today

Pheonix Suns. . . NBA Darlings. . . PreCrowned Champs

honestly .. . I give the Spurs no chance in this series anymore
suspension or not . .. they have gotten their last call

Suns in 7 [just to make it look less rigged]

So basically, whatever happens, the fans of one team will feel they got screwed.

If Stern suspends Stoudamire, Suns fans will feel screwed because ultimately, Amare didn't violate the spirit of the law.

If Stern does nothing, Spurs fans will feel screwed because Stern didn't keep the letter of the law.

Either way, somebody's fans are going to be pissed at Stern.

Saw the highlights on espn, that was not an altercation. If Nash had jumped up and got in Horry's face then perhaps.

Is it? What is the definition of immediate vicinity? 2 feet? 5 feet? 10 feet? They never got past the coaches, which were certainly in the vicinity of the Suns bench.

It was an altercation. That doesn't mean fists must be thrown.

Amare and Diaw should be suspended.

Horry should get 2 games suspension for the elbow to Raja Bell also.

At least some people are talking about the initial incident now.... instead of microscopically dissecting footage as to whether or not a player from the bench had placed at least one foot on the court (albeit, while they're still a good 20 feet from the melee).

That's exactly why the rule is there...

    Should versus Will

I think they're suspended. Letter of the law. Besides, Stern is going to want to put a stop to the past few games getting so chippy. Horry suspended for 1 if not 2 games as well.

Amare was walking the baseline - either to the scorer's table or to Nash who was on the ground. There wasn't a scuffle yet. I don't think Amare saw the foul, he was just checking in because that's what he is suppose to do - on the foul check in.

He didn't make a b-line to horry. I think he clearly didn't violate the rule of leaving the bench during an altercation - because when he left the bench, the altercation hadn't happened yet.

At what point did the "altercation" begin?

Before or after they left the bench? What was the defining moment of the "altercation" you speak of?

You sure you watched the replay?

And Horry was the only one to land a blow after the incident.

If Amare gets suspended, take out Horry for 2. If Amare and Diaw get suspended, take out Horry for 3. There is nothing in the rules to say a guy can't be suspended when he committs a flagrant 2 AND further escalates things with wild elbows at another player's throat. Bell showed amazing restraint not to deck Horry.

And until the refs clean up the Spurs under the pile kind of dirty crap (as well as the Jazz by the way--though I am not sure they are even as dirty, maybe just as grabby/slimy) the least they can do it call the offensive fouls. The Spurs got all the calls in game 1 anyway, or this series would be 3-1 Suns.

And remember Bell got suspended last year in the Lakers series for an in the flow of the play flagrant. Horry's was worse on two accounts--no play on the ball at all and the elbow to Bell after the whistle.

I'm not going to read the entire thread, but let me just say this:

Had Carmelo or Rasheed Wallace done what Amare and Diaw did, the debate wouldn't be whether they should be suspended, but how long. But the Suns are the kind of team that Stern wants to promote.

You think Carmelo would have been suspended multiple games for walking around, 20 feet away from a confrontation?
