Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick celebrated his 30th birthday in style at a Virginia Beach night club until shots were fired. The shooting occurred outside the club, Guadalajara, around 2:10 a.m. Friday as the event was drawing to a close. A fight broke out which escalated to somebody pulling a gun and non-fatally wounding a victim. The victim initially refused treatment, but eventually went to the hospital according to a WTKR-TV report. While police have not released many details, they did state that the witness and victim were being “uncooperative.” Although their attendance is unconfirmed, Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall, Indianapolis Colts safety Antoine Bethea and former NBA star (and Tidewater resident) Allen Iverson were scheduled to be there. Vick is still on federal probation following release his from prison." "UPDATE: The man who was shot at Michael Vick’s 30th birthday party turned out to be a person who was involved in the Eagles quarterback’s dog fighting ring. The pair allegedly argued earlier in the night after the shooting victim threatened to — or actually did — smash cake in Vick’s face. Another version has cake being smashed in the victim’s face. Either way, cake was involved according to David Squire of the Daily Press. Quanis Phillips, the victim, was admitted to Sentera Virginia Beach Hospital this morning with non life-threatening injuries after he was shot outside the nightclub where Vick’s party was being held according to the Daily Press (via PFT). The shooting occurred around 2:10 Friday morning. Vick’s lawyer, Larry Woodward, told the Associated Press that his client was neither involved nor present at the time of the shooting.
