Costco. They usually have an excellent selection of discounted displays by the major manufacturers, and double the warranty, gratis.
+1 I got the 42' equivalent and couldn't be happier. I'll pay the premium going from a cheap brand like Dynex or Westinghouse to something decent like LG because the difference is night and day.
If you can, just hold out till Black Friday. There will most definitely be a deal for a 32"-42" TV. There always is.
At a certain point it isn't about graphics but how clear the text and images are so its easier to decipher what you are seeing on screen. I just prefer seeing a clean image. Anyways I just don't see the point of buying a "next gen" console if you are not taking advantage of its "next gen" strengths, one of them being higher resolution games. You are already throwing out money buying a ps4, why would you handicap it by buying a 720p TV? I bet you could find a 1080p 32" for roughly $400-500.
Just go to Walmart and buy one. Especially if your price ceiling is $500. I just took a look at their website and they have a 50 inch for $419. Def won't be the best TV that you could get, but it's biggish and 1080p. Edit: Nevermind. Just noticed that the OP said $250 not $500.
I think you should look at some used TVs. I mean it's pretty hard to f up a tv. I guess you can worry about burning images with plasma, but just go LED and there should be nothing to worry about.

There you go. Within your budget and from a reputable company and 1080p.
the thing is, im getting my ps4 on november 15. i dont want to not be able to play it for 2 weeks until black friday. i'd rather just buy one now so i can get it in time for november 15.
Just wait until black friday & get a slightly bigger one for $100 cheaper. All you'll have to do is wait in line for maybe a day or so, and possibly take a number two in a five gallon bucket.
Do people not understand the concept of pixel density? If I HAD to go 720p I WOULD NOT want a larger size screen.
i will likely get this tv on friday, only $250 at a store near me, and its 1080p. Again, its a good tv, right? and no lag - since ill be using it for gaming.
wait, nvm, the tv im likely going to get is just like that one, its a different model and its 1080p AND same price. Great deal?
Whoa, don't point that thing at me. I was just making a black friday "where do those guys even take a dump?" joke.
Ok, guys. I bought a TV like this from best buy. Same brand, looks the same, and only cost $10 ($250 + tax, which i figured was a great deal). AND it is 1080p compared to this one being 720p. So, its the same tv, but just another model. Anyways, its 32 inch, 1080p, 60hz. I am going to pick it up at best buy tomorrow, but some people are saying 60hz is bad for gaming? is this true? i don't want any input lag, and i just want a good tv for my ps4.
Do you have a TV right now? IMO, I would just play on that TV until the BF deals come out. Even if you don't go for the doorbusters, there should still be plenty of great deals left after all the doorbusters have been picked clean. November 15th (PS4 release) to November 29th (BF). That's only two weeks. The budget you have in getting a 32in TV might be able to get a 40in TV. You never know. (playing PS4 on a small TV just feels wrong.)
It scored a 12.5ms score on one review test I saw...good enough for a 9.1 out of 10. You will be fine as far as input (display) lag. But, you know there are a bunch of cheaters out there using lag switches so you still could be killed without actually seeing your opponent.
So what's the biggest size tv one can game on without any noticeable input lag? My 55" LG is like Yao Ming when going up for a rebound- my tv reacts about a half second too late when I press a button, unacceptable for gaming. I also have 42" panasonic and it is great for gaming but would really like something bigger so I can game in my home theater and replace the LG.
