I suspect the high caliber ammo from the AK did the most damage just because of the sheer power to penetrate through multiple victims at once. That theater had to be a shooting gallery. Thank God more than 75% of those victims survived.
Drugs (non-prescription) are banned (made illegal) from the U.S. yet still people find a way to get their hands on them with ease. Just because you make something illegal/banned doesn't mean people stop making them or keep them from finding different ways of getting what they're looking for. The problem is once you ban something, and make it that much harder to get, the more value that object gains and more power you give to terrorist groups, war lords, or militia type gangs who thrive off this financial upswing. Trust me I know... I watch Gangland.
goodness. sorry if this is a re-post, but didn't want to sift through this thread. http://jessicaredfield.wordpress.com/2012/06/05/late-night-thoughts-on-the-eaton-center-shooting/ this poor girl was on hand for the Toronto shooting last month, and was killed last night. that's some final destination crap. RIP.

I lost a high school friend last night because of this. If you're that miserable of a person, take your own life. Don't kill other people. First my state had the fires, now this.
I'm not going to go into a gun-ban argument right now, but you have to pick a different example than Mexico. Mexico is getting its guns from gun-crazy USA. If we didn't have the liberal gun laws we have, it'd probably make a gun a lot harder to find in both the US and Mexico.
Ummmm....have you looked around at the US these days. There's enough organized crime/corrupted government/police control to totally circumvent any gun control laws. Reference Chicago. Your own words..... How are these overpaid and useless cops going to enforce gun control?
If the founding father knew what is happening in this country today, would they still have the 2nd amendment as it is written?
Someone posted the timeline of the events http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/wv4q2/someone_came_into_our_theater_at_the_midnight/c5gq9c0
Mexico has a very corrupted government that can't and doesn't enforce their laws at all levels. Don't compare us to Mexico. For every Mexico, I will point you countries like Japan.
