    This thread turned weird quickly.

At the moment, I'm just relieved beyond words my niece picked a different theatre last night.

Everyone looks for that black-and-white scapegoat of what's to blame. Marilyn Manson was one such scapegoat back during the Columbine incident. What he said then is still poignant today:

If there were better guns control **** like this will never happen. I don't care how crazy a person is but if he/she doesn't have any guns there wouldn't be this many death. What would you rather have? A psycho with guns or a psycho with knifes? You take away the firearms and that one biggest problem is at least being solve.

El hombre blanco es loco, pero afortunadamente para nosotros, él también suave.

Han hecho bien para plantear esta pregunta, pequeña pequeña bailarina.

Most lunatics and serial killers are HIGHLY intelligent. Some go on to become CEO's, some go on to be killers. There isn't a deciding factor or gene that allows you to monitor the progress of each and every person over a period of time.

You can analyze and look at trends all you want, but the only way a change happens is if the precogs from Minority Report grace this planet. In the meantime, glorifying stylish murder does nothing but fuel the next case.

If you're thinking about money, then no, but if you want know how it's affecting people, then it should be. It'll help police and theaters know how to deal with what may follow, like false alarms.

manson is an idiot his rambling in bowling for columbine about how it's about fear to "make you consume" is the stupidest drivel possible

a certain percent of people just aren't normal. the way human evolution works a certain percent of people will be outside the bell curve which can be a good or a bad thing. no matter what society does or how good life is there will always be someone genetically programed to be unhappy about how things in that particular society are run or flip out. 40 years ago such ideas might have trigger a lot of angst and metaphysical debate about free will but since E O Wilson's work sociobiology is pretty much accepted. it forms the basis of modern "born this way" gay identity for example.

in the US you can just take 15 people with you because of our gun laws. in china that dude had to WORK to take out 3 people before the kung fu master flying kicked his ass into submission

Pretending to know how the mind of another operates is the stupidest drivel possible.

Doesn't matter really cause crazy f****s like this will find a way to get guns whether it be legally or illegally.

Some people just have mental issues beyond imagination and its hard to get rid of that type of problem unless you pin point them ALL and send them to the insane asylum. Which is a task in its own.

Guns don't kill people, but people dont kill people in such a dramatic horrifying manner without guns. It is reported that he doesnt have legal permits to own those guns. We also don't know if he got those guns illegally. However, if guns are tightly controlled, for example civilians can't own a gun, it would make it much much harder for crazy people to get guns, legally or illegally. Will prohibiting civilian gun ownership completely prevent trajedy like this? Probably not, but there are going to less gun related crimes, for sure. I think there have been enough evidence to warrant a finding of compelling reason to do away gun ownership. The harm just outweighs the rights claimed.

Also, time to put a lid on music glorifying violence and killing. Those songs are counter values to a society of order.

Yes it does matter. It just make it even harder for anyone to be able to get a hold of firearms so that will leave them to other mean of weapons such as knifes. So now instead of 1/10 psycho who could easily buy firearms. It will be 1/10000 who will be able to get a hold of firearms.

The easiest solution is to BANNED firearms rather than trying to find the next mental case. Someone could be the nicest person all their life but it only might only take something that could break a person over night. I mean if a psycho are vocal you can track them down but a quiet psycho? Good luck with that.

Police chief just confirmed this was the case. His car was right outside the back door. He was arrested in the back of the theater.

And i believe the previous photo posted was not a mug shot. Someone commented on how he was smiling, but apparently the photo hasn't been released.

Mexico has some of the most stringent gun laws in the world....also one of the highest murder rates. If someone wants a gun, they will get one or use an explosive device.
