I remember one time on the radio Morey saying that Rockets had a good track record of players improving their shooting percentage when they joined the team. Seems weird to say something like that if its completely random and not something they work on in some way, but he didn't elaborate. I think was in reference to Brewer's hot hand when he first came to the Rockets, but he acknowledged that level of improvement was not sustainable.
Exactly!!!! You have one of the best shooters/ ft shooters of all time right in your backyard ... *duh*
I can't believe how many people out there believe there is hope that Dwight and Josh will significantly improve their free throw percentage at this juncture in their careers. They are 11 year vets who are/or will be 30 years old going into this next season. If after their first 11 seasons they still suck at something, it's safe to say they're going to continue to suck at it.
Some things cannot be taught. I'm sure many people have tried to help Dwight and Josh with their free throws. The one person I would want to work with those guys is Rick Barry. The underhand method of shooting is so far removed than shooting the ball normally, it might just work. Dwight and Josh need to try something radically different.
Dwight and Josh were just complete failures at the FT line in these playoffs. They couldn't have shot them worse even of they never practiced a free throw in the last year. They should be embarrassed to be shooting low 40s.
