Apparently, dip***** (the shooter) doesn't know the difference between famous and infamous. I don't know to many people clamoring to get in line to be the next known coward who shoots at innocent people who have no clue why some nutjob is taking shots at them. Just because you can't deal with your own life doesn't mean you have to go around shooting people who can. He should have just shot himself and that was it. I guess he was even more of a coward that he couldn't do that. If he was so pissed at his parents/step parents, then why didn't he take them out? At least they had something to do with how he turned out. Yea...coward / spazboy is famous.
Yeah, I don't really understand a sympathetic thought for this guy. Pure suicide? Yes, I can feel for a person in that situation. Definitely. Mass murder, oh-and-then-sure-suicide-too? I don't really have much good to say about the woman who is in the media as the one who took him in. The guy shows you the damn gun the night before. You knew the kid was troubled and had problems. The guy has no business whatsoever owning a gun. He's in your household. Common sense says you take the gun away from him then and there. You don't go "oh...it looked old so I assumed it wouldn't fire". It's just creepy that this guy is showing off the gun the night before and no bells are going off. If she found it so acceptable for this guy to have a gun in her home, then she's a flippin idiot...especially if she knew he was having so many problems.

You can also buy and sell other large bore anti-tank rifles larger than .50 like the .55 Boys ATR. These guns can not be imported to the USA and can not be sold without a special ATF form 3 or form 4.
So you seriously believe any handheld 14.5mm or hell even 25mm Barrett has any kinda of a shot of doing anything to a tank except making them shoot you? Plus its not illegal unless it has a rifled barrel.
You are really good at not knowing when you are wrong. The guns in question are antitank rifles. They are great at attacking the PzKpfw II for which they are designed. You can try to rationalize your wrongness any way you want, but you are still wrong, just as you were wrong about the shielding requirements for a Mars trip and wrong for believing we can airlift the entire US Army into Iran using French cargo planes. And while they the Russian rifle and the Boys are both rifled, you are further wrong about the bore being the deciding factor. The ATF bases its decision on the weapons stated design use, which is why the M79 grenade launchers are illegal, but flare guns aren't, even if they are capable of chambering and firing the same 40 mm grenade that the grenade launcher would take.
No need to solve the mystery of why people do that. However, if messed up people who go out to kill randomly have no access to automatic weapons because of better gun laws, they can kill less folks.

Anti-Tank rifle is the most outdated irrelevant term loved by anti-gunners to imply a rifle can take out a freakin tank. Show me any rifle that can take out a tank. You are also wrong about flare guns. Any flare gun that can chamber a 40mm grenade is illegal. Why do you think the 37mm flare guns are so popular? Because no 37mm DD's have ever been made.
