Good point, I totally agree. I guess I was just venting at the state of the “news” agencies today and what does and doesn’t qualify as news. Sometimes I think they care more about who won Dancing With The Stars than they do about what goes on in the real world.
Canada has these type of shootings as well, 2 years ago, people were shooting at each other in the middle of Yonge St in Toronto (proly the busiest street in Canada) in the afternoon. Its not like they don't have guns in Canada.
Of course you can get guns in every country, it is just much harder to get guns in countries like Canada, England, Japan, etc. I wonder what would happen in this country if one of these mall shooting happens every day for a year straight, would anything be done about it then? I doubt it.
This is a random act by some wackjob, which is why this doesn't happen everyday, and proly is statistically insignificant.
Did you see this guy? This guy was a loser and a spaz. I mean...he got fired from McDonalds for crying out loud. He will be forgotten by most of America in a few days. However, those who were related to, or knew, the people he killed will remember him forever. I guess this guy wanted to make a name for himself. He couldn't do it a normal way so he's like "hey...I'll kill a bunch of people and be famous". That is just absolutely pathetic. His friends who are defending him are pathetic, too.
Ironically enough, the first person they arrested was some black guy in a camouflage jacket and black hooded sweatshirt, who had been hiding under a bench at a mall bus stop.
its funny, you always want to argue how something isn't racist, when someone shows you something that obviously has to do with race all you can do is make some stupid joke. hardy har har
This is actually not true. It is very difficult in Canada to get small caliber pocket handguns, like .22's (requiring a 'restricted' license), but conversely you are able to buy over the counter large caliber rifles, like anti-tank rifles that are totally impossible to obtain in the US. For the gun that the killer used here, there would be no difference in relative difficulty in obtaining the firearm between the USA and Canada.
Actually, it has to do with public safety, quick decisions and damn good police work. Something their chief.... ...Is probably very proud of.
what's so good about the police work they had the wrong race? what did show the picture of the chief for? because he's black? he could have negative stereotypes about blacks, you do.
They were apprehending suspiciously acting people in the midst of a mass murder. His race is a fact that's relevant to your seemingly instinctive charge of racism against his subordinates. Or maybe he cares more about protecting potential murder victims than racial tolerance. Do you?
look, going off your post, the person who brought up race in the first place, the only other person I know they apprehended was black you brought up the race, again, i've seen plenty of blacks with negative images of their own people, including you. I notice you didn't take issue with your disdain for your own race
Do you care more about racial tolerance than about trying to protect people from getting killed? Yes or no? The civilized world is waiting for your answer.
I care about them equally, you can't have a civilized world without racial tolerance. you need to ask an older black person who lived through racial intorelance if they felt their world was civilized. and again, you're the one bragging about good police work when the first suspect wasn't even the right race. now the world is waiting on this answer, what was the purpose of you bringing up the race of the first suspect?
Wrong answer victim, they're not equal. Especially in this instance, where "racial intolerance" is symbolized by (possible) racial profiling. Maybe you should ask the relatives and co-workers of the bullet-riddled corpses. Bragging and showing gratitude. They were arresting suspicious people in the immediate vicinity with limited information. They erred on the side of caution, which you get to do when you're trying to prevent additional murders. God bless them for their efforts. To point out the unintended irony of an original poster's joke. What's the purpose of your racial bellyaching?
I don't know the victim, don't care, I care about black people having the same rights as everyone else, obviously you don't care about yourself the stupidity of this response is racial profiling didn't stop anything. so what's your point again, it was bad police report. they erred on the side of blackness, something that happens all too often what irony, the shooter was white, the only thing you point out was a mistake to protect the white man from evil racial jokes apparently. I'm sure he agrees with you playin the good son edit: these are the type of heated situations when negative profiling can become dangerous so I especially care about profiling in this type of situation with a bunch of cops looking for a gunman
serial killers, mass murderers -- we white men have cornered the market, by a large margin. Everytime there's a shooting like this, every nerdy white guy should be shoved to the ground and handcuffed. (Yes, I know that would mean me.) you don't get nutjobs like this in every country, and I don't think it's just gun laws.
