    Horseshoe theory at work.

The extreme right and the extreme left are both authoritarian and violent.

The only difference is the extreme right's candidate won so they put down their weapons.

If Trump had lost I think the violence and inflammatory rhetoric would be twice as bad, if not worse.

Two people get shot; one famous, one not famous. Which do you think will generate more attention?

I agree with the bolded part, the Bernie bros are every bit as radical as the fringes of the right. I'm not sure I'm with you when you talk about how much worse things would be if Trump lost though. The extreme left is MUCH more mainstream and I think that changes things.

Well, I'm still unclear: the guy went "hunting Congressmen," and he found some; he just didn't know whether the Congressmen he tracked down were Republicans or Democrats, and luckily for him, he found some Republicans?

He went "hunting Congressmen" and showed up to where the Republicans were playing baseball. He then asked around to make sure they were Republicans, and once he found that out, he opened fire.

The Bernie People have radicalized. The online organization from the campaign reached a critical mass to generate this radicalized agenda and radicalized Bernie People.

I haven't been following the news. Did they ever link the dude who asked "Rep/Dem" to the shooting? I think everyone agrees it's pretty obvious the shooting was calculated to target Republican Congressmen.

Yeah, silence them, refuse to hear the truth.

Trump has caused a lot of the strife in this country with his rhetoric....grab em by the p***y, hate on black people, witness Sessions trying to reignite the war on poor people's drugs so the red states can stay red.

Don't look at what he says, look at what he does, Trump is the nexxus of the hatred in this country with his crazed agenda and narcissistic attitude.

He is 100% a contributor to our countries problems.

OK, so the "Republican or Democrat?" thing is out the window now?
We just know Republicans were specifically targeted because . . . what? Coz he was a Bernie guy, so natch....

Wait wait: people are saying he shouted "Bernie akbar!"

And you think 45 has nothing to do with the right wing radicals that have been coming out with all the hate as of late pushing division 45 people must think there bullet proof since he has been in office.

It's not "out the window", it's just unsubstantiated.

Logical bet is that this was a targeted attack on Republican Congressmen.

Unless you want to believe that a hardcore anti-conservative coincidentally lost his marbles at a Republican softball team practice at 6AM on a weekday.

You'll agree that that analysis would go nowhere in a court of law. . . .

My first thought when I saw the shooter was that I should check here and see if anyone has seen DaDakota recently.

He drove from Illinois with a rifle to a specific baseball field where Republican congressmen practice baseball, but he wasn't sure who he was going to shoot.

it's logic at this point right?

There's no need for a court of law in this instance, the Bernie bro terrorist was put down before he could do any more damage.

No, I won't. I don't think a jury could be convinced this was a random act of violence.

Regardless, this isn't a court of law so whatever hypothetical standard of reasonable doubt you require is meaningless.

He moved to Alexandria 2 months ago, I believe. Not sure whether he moved here with the specific intention of doing this, but it's possible.
