spot on.... there is nothing chemically addicting about mar1juana. it can definitely have a psychological affect on some people, but through experience i dont think i've ever witnessed anybody (myself included) who displayed any real physical withdrawl symptoms after stopping prolonged use.

i still firmly believe that pot, by itself, is significantly less harmful than just about any other drug available - legal or not.

Muggles : a slang term for cannabis, mostly used in the 1920s and 1930s and associated with the American jazz scene (wikipedia)

just how old are you RMT? lol I thought I'd heard just about every slang word for it but that is a new one on me. Sounds kinda cute and fluffy.

Yeah, the other thing was a rash decision. ;) Seriously though, my wife hasn't smoked since June and I noticed when I was around her and not smoking, our relationship was a lot better. Ass >>>>> Grass. :D

Early on when I lived in Los Angeles, from about 1987-1991, I used to hang out with this great group of musicians who had relocated to LA from New Orleans. That's what they called it, so that's what I started calling it, and I have ever since.

Hey...if it was good enough for Louis Armstrong, it's good enough for me! :D

I'll be 46 in three weeks (Texas Independence Day).

I agree with you 1,000,000,000 percent.

I do believe I will live to see the day when mar1juana is decriminalized and possibly legalized in the United States.

Trouble is, with my luck, it will finally happen while I am in an old folks home and not able to do anything but poop in a bedpan and drool on myself. :(

You don't bilieve me? So you you didn't think, for a second that pot may affect different people in diferent ways? That's a pretty self-centered mentality, bud.

I just disclosed MY PERSONAL experience with the drug. Does that mean that everyone has the exact same reaction to it?

A lot of my friends are still pot smokers and I don't think anything less of them because of it. I have absolutely nothing against pot smokers, nor do I believe that you can't be succesful if you're a pothead. I got through architecture school at Texas A&M and maintained a B+ average all while being a heavy smoker and NEVER studying.

You totally took my post wrong there, dude, and it's a little offensive being called a liar based on a couple paragraphs by someone you've never met.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with mar1juana. It annoys me to no end that it is illegal in most places of the country. I smoke with frequency, and I go through periods where I don't smoke for an extended amount of time. It's not addictive. The people who let it affect their lifes in a negative way just simply don't have enough self-discipline. mar1juana? mar1juana is not a drug!

I found these questions online and decided to answer from my own experience.

    1. Has smoking pot stopped being fun?

It did. That's why I quit.

    2. Do you ever get high alone?

I did and I seldom enjoyed it. If I was alone I would usually focus on my current problems and worry far too much about them.

    3. Is it hard for you to imagine life without mar1juana.

When I was younger, I thought I'd smoke weed until I died. Now, I don't understand why I smoked back then.

4.Do you find that your friends are determined by your mar1juana use?

Yes, I think I was friends with some people because we had weed in common and a few people quit hanging around me because they knew I smoked weed.

    5. Do you smoke mar1juana to avoid dealing with your problems?

Sometimes I feel like I did. It would work when I had friends around me. When I was alone it made my problems seem worse.

    6. Do you smoke pot to cope with your feelings?

No, I think I enjoyed checking out of the real world for a while.

    7. Does mar1juana let you love in a privately defined world?

In my mind, I think I justified getting high as a harmless act ignoring the risks associated with purchasing and using mar1juana.

    8. Have you ever failed to keep promises about cutting down or controlling your dope smoking?

In my personal life, no. I saw this in a few of my friends though.

    9. Has your use of mar1juana caused memory, concentration or motivation?

Motivation was a problem for me when I was high.

    10. If your stash is nearly empty, do you feel anxious or nervous about how to get more?

I didn't have this problem but I had a friend that would go in to a panic if he ran out of smoke.

    11. Do you plan your life around mar1juana use.

I never really did. I did have friends that had to get high before they did anything.

    12. Have your friends or relatives ever complained that your pot smoking is damaging your relationship with them?

I quit hanging around some people because they didn't smoke weed. I guess that damaged the relationship.

I binge drank almost nightly. I got to a point to where nothing but Long Island Ice Teas was the only thing that would get me drunk. I would drink 5 without getting sick. But I'd lose count after 2 or 3 and 6 would make me sick so I'd take 1 coin out of my right pocket and put it in my left pocket every time I bought a drink. After I had 5 coins in my left pocket, I'd switch to Amaretto Sours to keep me "peaking". I did this for years. I had no problem quitting alcohol. I wasn't out looking for empties to lick if it wasn't there.

But pot...was another story for me.

I resent being called weak minded. That's a weak term used by those who don't know ....

But that's not what you said. You were speaking in generalities.

You didn't say it was addictive for you, you said it was addictive, period. If I misread you, I apologize. I was just going off exactly what you wrote...which sounded to me like you were a motivational speaker for the ONDCP.

Eventually, it was. I did nothing to his first statement that says IT IS ADDICTIVE...not, I was addicted.

    Thanks hotballa.

Leroy seemed like he was accusing me of ripping pot smokers, which I've never done. I had some great times smoking pot, but I just decided to quit because I was lazy, unhealthy, and coughing up black stuff. No offense was intended, and i'm certainly not the tzar of anti-drug propaganda.

Maybe I should have written it was, indeed addictive.... for me.
