My pic for most un-biased news is the Christian Science Monitor. I like the BBC, but they have a European slant that some Americans find liberal. It's understandable considering they are based in England. I love Jim Lehrer and I find their discussions to be really thought-provoking and interesting, but they still choose stories for a PBS audience and they understand that demographic well.

But, the Christian Science Monitor, to me, is about as un-biased as you can get in media. They are consistently one of the best sources for reporting I've ever read.

not all heterosexuals can procreate yet they are still allowed to marry. if a hetero couple adopts a child are they less of a family than a biological family? what about a single-parent family?

why does a family even require children? can't a couple without kids be considered a family?

just because you have a narrow definition of something doesn't mean it is the only definition.

by the way, i was never and have never recruited anyone to be gay.

I'm pretty sure every news station was covering the hell out of the Edwards selection. The only difference is that CNN just reported it while Fox news cuts to Hannitty in his radio booth so that he can use all the RNC selected deragatory remarks about Edwards.

Man, I can't stand those gay recruiters. They come to the mall all the time, looking to get new members. Sheesh. Don't get me started on the pamplets.

You have to throw NPR into the mix with "All Things Considered" The are consistant in showing both sides of the issue with Op Ed's from both sides. NPR is MUCH more middle of the road than Fox or CNN

When Fox says "Fair and Balanced" It should be "Fair Balancer". the scales have been tipped the other way for so long that they needed a balancer. I applaud them. I also recognize that someone realized that there were millions of conservatives out there that were not being marketed to on television news. Pretty smart move in my book.

But they wont. Because "Fair and Balanced" sounds better. The ultimate lie.

Yep. Very little to do with informing the public and more about "$" Oh, yeah! That's what I want in a "news" source.

I wish I was unbiased so I could see what exactly it is CNN does. It's easy to spot Fox's stuff. Cutting people's mics during interviews and shouting them down. They all use the same talking points. Also, you don't see jabs from CNN. In the trailer for this doc, it shows stuff like Cavuto going "if the unthinkable were to happen, and John Kerry becomes President...." When does anybody on CNN go "if the unthinkable were to happen, and Bush remains president, blah blah, how would the world not be destroyed" or something.

The reason they cut the mics is because anytime the host feels that he's losing the debate....he'll cut the mic (the Republican's idea of "debate."). It's all about having the upper hand and preventing an appearance of losing, real or perceived.

Their Washingon correspondent is extremely anti-American.

    BBC
Nobody takes them seriously anymore. And the Arabic languge service is apparently run by a bunch of loons. Right now their big thing is to hire away Al Jazeera "journos".
