My calendar starts with the month of January. I'd call that early. Maybe even 3 months after that. Then it's not so much early anymore.
They weren't receiving the payments they were owed...not really sure why it's wrong for Crane to start shopping elsewhere. If the company I work for misses my paycheck, I'm doing multiple things including looking at other jobs.

I'd need to read the testimony to get a sense of it. I'm sure the lawyers nailed it down as to when. Not sure I care either way. After the very few deals started coming in...and they were disappointing (according to all parties involved)..that's when people start shopping.
Holy crap! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Former Rockets and Astros executive George Postolos will be second witness.</p>— David Barron (@dfbarron) <a href="https://twitter.com/dfbarron/statuses/394904709414150144">October 28, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Judge Isgur on length of hearing: "I told my wife not to expect me home tonight."</p>— David Barron (@dfbarron) <a href="https://twitter.com/dfbarron/statuses/394904863697416193">October 28, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Hearing will continue Tuesday afternoon if it doesn't wrap up today.</p>— David Barron (@dfbarron) <a href="https://twitter.com/dfbarron/statuses/394905015048880128">October 28, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
That would be like blaming a player under contract for going through back channels to see if another team is interested in having them. Again, If the company I'm working for is looking like it's going in the wrong direction (the CSNH problem started last October), I'm looking elsewhere
If you have something to offer up different, I'd change my stance a little. I still think he has an obligation to involve the Rockets since he will likely need them to get maximum value. I based my comments on what Barron actually told us was said in court not what might be in documents we haven't seen. Early could be around the May time for the carriage proposal that Crane turned down. I dunno. Still wasn't not getting paid then.
My best guess: Postolos is going to testify with regard to what the Astros were informed they could expect from Comcast. He's going to be the witness who provides testimony on the whole "reliance" angle the Astros claim. We'll see. I could be way off.
I have been following this thread for a while to get updates.... Well at least I have been trying to do so. However, it seems it consistently devolves into people pointing fingers and name calling one another. Can't we all just get along and not bicker over small crap (what is and isn't considered early on a Gregorian calendar).
I hope he takes a moment to ad lib and tell the city that he was not the obstacle to a deal like the chronicle falsely reported. The smear job on him as left was crazy.

Ok...Which is your position? You said they weren't getting paid and I responded to that. Now you say, it was because Crane saw things going in the wrong direction. Well the has some merit because Crane was the one driving the train in the wrong direction, he had a front row seat. He still has an obligation to the Rockets since they both need each other's media rights.
I would tend to agree that's his purpose. If the Rockets come back and say the same "reliance" angle wasn't presented to them, Postolos testimony may be neutralized.
Well both could be true...we don't know. It's a guess from everyone as to what "early" means. My position is that Crane runs the Astros, and he has to do what's in the teams best interest. No matter what I think about him as an owner so far (it's not good), it's hard to blame him off pure speculation
