Agreed, but I'm not sure they'll ever get back loyalty to where the fans turn out despite mediocrity.

This is crazy. The Rockets are trying so hard to keep CSN together.

So surely this will delay any Rockets games on tv?

We'll see what happens. I'm not optimistic they'll be on in the next 30 days.

Yeah, unlike the Astros owner the Rockets care about the jobs of CSN employees. Didn't Crane fire damn near everyone affiliated to previous Astros ownership?

Yeah, the Rockets position is one born out of altruism, Reeko :)

    That's just funny.

The position the Rockets are taking is NOT a position that will have them on the air anytime soon.

LOL that has nothing to do with it.

Do you work for CSN Houston or have a family member there?

The employees at CSN are the last concern of anyone at the Rockets, Astros, or even Comcast. It's all about the dollars.

The Astros won't get anywhere near what they wanted because they won't have ownership in the Network.

The folks at FSSW own a couple of licensed copies of Excel too... Whatever the pie is... For the Astros to make more money then the Network makes less money. Crane has done a great job at one thing....that is destroying his leverage by running his mouth. Crane has created risk for FSSW because he may have sabotaged the relationship with the single largest provider in the Houston market.

Comcast would have had to have signed an amendment to their carriage agreement to be offered the rebate when the Astros and Rockets left. There's a better than even chance that Comcast would have to sign an amendment to agree to start providing the games to their subscribers on FSSW. I say this because with a 20 year agreement, I doubt they made provisions to come back. Even if not true, they'd only be paying whatever rates they would have paid before. I don't see an increase in profit there for FSSW.

If I were FSSW, I'd offer them their previous deal and be done with it. They now know most fans won't change providers and they have a general idea of what the carriage rates they will be paying to the providers will look like.

I can't confirm that Comcast was one of the providers that got a rebate from FSN. Just Direct, Dish and ATT.

I promise you that FSN will bring back the Astros on a fair deal.

What outcome will produce the best results for the Rockets fans who want them on TV ASAP?

Astros winning this hearing? (Why? ETA?)
Comcast winning this hearing? (Why? ETA?)

I am sure it has been mentioned somewhere in the thread already but I don't feel like going back through all the back and forth posts of non stop arguing

    Astros winning.

Case gets dismissed...Astros walk the deal immediately. Rockets follow. CSN implodes.

    Fair point on the rebate.

As far as a fair deal... Crane is going to tell you that any deal he gets from this point forward means he can't pay your hometown heroes when they start making money. You can take that to the bank.

The Rockets position in this tells you that they think the best deal is to sign the carriage deals that have been offered and stick with CSN Houston. I doubt they will get less of a percentage split with the Astros in a deal with FSN than they have now with CSN H. If they did, they won't sign with FSN either.

I heard Tad Brown interviewed on 790 and he mentioned that 100 or so jobs that CSN created downtown and how much he wanted those people to continue being employed.

I'd say yes. The Rockets want to help those people keep their jobs.
