I'm with J.R. on this one... I never bought into Sheridan Hoops as a legitimate news source. Seems like Sheridan wanted his own site independent from ESPN, but didn't have the resources to hire a great staff, so they resort to throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Keeps traffic going for advertisers, but not reliable. They've had a number of off-the-wall stories over the years that haven't panned out... headline grabbers, but only for entertainment. Hoopsworld-lite.

    No.
MKG's ceiling is not high enough to consider trading Parsons.

He's the only guy that has mentioned this... But MKG might fit better in GS than Barnes. And maybe a Kemba/Barnes/Otto trio could do some things in a few years.

I'm not very high on Kemba, but Barnes is a future allstar and Otto is one of my favorite players in this draft.

MKG was the guy I wanted the Rockets to try to get last year...
The kid can play, it's just unfortunate that he winded up in Charlotte along with everyone else that has been drafted by them.

Even after Clutch's reply that it was a rumor you still write this response?

First of all, why are people on CF so in love with Parsons? Please take off the homer glasses. If espn.com or nba.com created a poll - who would they prefer CP or MKG it would be ridiculously in favor of MKG.

MKG has Allstar-star potential and is only 19 years old. Once he gets a jumper we could be looking at another Paul George in the making.

Do you actually believe Parsons has allstar/star potential? He will be 25 when next season starts. Parsons was a 2nd rounder, MKG went 2nd overall. Yes Parson's contract is very attractive (probably the MAIN reason his trade value is so high). If he was making $4.8-$5 million person season it would definitely attract less teams from trading for him.

The time to dump Parsons for any allstar-star player is now if anything. Once he gets his contract extension (around $6-$10 million depending how he does the rest of his contract) it will be game over.

If the rumor was true, I would have traded TRob and Parsons for MKG so the salaries match up so we still would be in the running for DH12.

    Kidd-Gilchrist on the market. Asik?

    This is interesting:

#Bobcats GM Rich Cho says he is not "shopping" Kidd-Gilchrist but is fielding calls. That is what we call semantics.

If we get Howard do you guys think it would be smart to go after him. He seems like he would be a perfect fit for a defensive swing man with upside for a young upcoming team.

I know the rockets loved him. I would love him as our backup sg/sf personally. Hoping he lives up to the Scottie Pippen lite hype.

Of course the other benefit is freeing up 5 million more or so to maybe make a run at another player like a PF.

Probably a dumb idea, but I was just thinking.

Why would they do that? Have they given up on him already? Or do they think he'll fetch an enormous price?

I'd only look at moving Asik only when Dwight signs on the dotted line here. Not opposed to an Asik-MKG swap though. He has extreme defensive potential.

    Lin/Bev
    Harden
    MKG
    Parsons/Jones/Dmo
    Dwight/Smith

Id imagine if we did this deal we could still bring in another free agent with cap space from asik/mkg savings.

like a tony allen or brewer and still...

We could also sign a 3pt specialist like garcia for cheap.

Id imagine the starting lineup would be

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    (one of smith, dmo, jones)
    Howard

then have parsons rotate to the PF for a lot of minutes.

I beg to differ. While I would absolutely love to get MKG on the Rockets, Parsons is young, and while it's true he was a 2nd round pick, as everyone knows, he has been a starter for his first 2 seasons. That's remarkable. Honestly, what does where he was picked have to do with anything? Robinson was picked 3 spots lower than MKG, and we have members on this site calling him "trash," and making endless posts, and threads, rediculing him.

At this point, what matters is his play on the court, and he has simply been outstanding. Potential? Chandler improved dramatically in his second year, after a fantastic rookie season. In my opinion, he will continue to improve, and yes, he has All Star potential should that improvement continue. Parsons can shoot, he has quickly developed a shot from beyond the arc that must be respected by defenders, he has a good handle, he is an excellent passer, he can take it to the rim, he's an excellent defender, an excellent rebounder for a 3, a team leader who's constantly talking on the court to his equally young teammates, he steals the ball. Parsons can play multiple positions, and play them well. He can defend multiple positions, and defend them well. Hell, Chandler improved nearly every aspect of his game in his second season, instead of having a 2nd year slump, which is not unusual. With increased minutes, every one of his shooting metrics increased a great deal. Honestly, unless it was to get a star player clearly better than Parsons, one that filled a real need that made creating a hole at the 3 by Chandler's departure worth it, I would not consider moving him. And his salary eventually increasing with a new contract? So what? That's was happens when you become very, very good!
