He's a nice player and all, especially given the dearth of centers in today's NBA, but how come we never talk about the fact that Bogut was taken 1st overall, ahead of Chris Paul and DWill? On a scale of 1-10, 10 being Kwame Brown, how disappointing would we rate Bogut's career? A 6-7 maybe?

I'd give up anybody on our roster for Bogut. Lowry included.

erm....no. Bogut is injury prone. You'd give up Lowry for a poor man's Yao Ming?

Look at the number of quality point guards in the league and look at the number of quality centers. Bogut is arguably the 2nd best defensive center in the NBA. Dearth of centers is underrated.

Even if he is (which I'm not sure I agree with), scarcity doesn't make up for impact IMO.

I don't think he disappointed. Bogut has been exactly what people expected him to be as far as I remember. It's just that CP and DWill exceeded expectations-- people thought they would be very good PGs, but I don't think "superstar" was a safe assumption to make about them coming out of college.

And yes, I'd take Bogut on my team absolutely.

    6-7? GTFO here.

    Not very disappointing at all.

    He's a top 3 center.

    1) Dwight
    2) Bynum
    3) Bogut

I'd take him over Bynum too. The only thing Bynum has on Bogut is that he's younger.

I would also take Ersan "the Ice Truck Killer" Ilyiasova if he's available.

    6-5 with him
    0-4 without him

Bogut is a very, very good player.

Lowry's are a dime a dozen in this league.

Bogut is a top 3 center in the league. No question about it. He's really not that injury prone either.

That busted arm was gruesome and it's effected his shooting stroke. I think that's a permanent part of him. he should quit taking those midrange shots, and concentrate on getting the ball to the rim or pass it back out, reset, and either find a shooter or get the ball back to the rim.

Isn't the value in bigs taken with the first overall pick supposed to be their ability to single-handedly put teams in contention, through their impact on both ends of the floor? The Bucks have had one (1) season above 0.500 in Bogut's time there. Yes. He's a good player. But he's not a franchise changer.

Even putting aside the injuries, in terms of impact, he's certainly closer to Emeka Okafor than Yao Ming.

End up with Bogut and Kyle, give away less than 4 rotation players and that's a trade I'd be very happy with.
K mart, J Hill, and Cbud + Knicks Pick for Andrew Bogut + some pick (1 or 2)

    Bogut is a nightmare defensively.

The Bucks have been top of the league defensively for many many years, its thier offense which is really bad that holds them back. Adding Bogut to this team without giving up core pieces would be a significant step forward.
