Then why don't you focus on the points rather than the parts where RileyDog expressed more personal feelings. I felt a little uncomfortable seeing the title too. But after reading through the post, I have no choice but to agree every bit he said.
Did you seriously go Star Trek on us LMFAO!? I like the "I'll give you the Cortisone shots" line. I mean dude could probably barely walk without the shots, yet he takes them and leads the team knowing we probably weren't going to do much without Yao. And I'm sure there was no pain involved either... I'm a fan of the Rockets who come up biggest at the biggest moments. I don't give a crap about the style points of one Jamario Moon bucket. You guys should question the heart of the other losers on the team who didn't bring it in an elimination game.
you mean like the same people (probably you as well) who was all excited when tmac came back then 3-4 games later was sadden again? You mean these same fans who for one game would cheer tmac then the next game be looking for him on the bench? I wonder who was hurt more from this, the fans or his teammates.
As I've said in Tracy interview thread. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah I'm Back! Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Ouch! Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Its all on me Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah It's my fault Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Sorry Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah I'm Back!
I love your post! This is exactly what I felt, but did not realized. I suggest to put Shemac on the bench for the 6th player and let Ron start even when she is healthy. That way, she will feel the pressure and she can do what ever she wants when Yao & Ron are not on the court, it will not disturb the team chemistry. Thanks for the post.
How was that Dallas game 7 anyway? If you are the leader and the highest paid player and you DEMAND to have the ball in your hands to make the decisions, you deserve the criticism. Why can't Tmac's delicate little flowers of fans understand that? If he worked hard in the OFFSEASON like the rest of the team that had more INVASIVE surgery than he did...there would not be a problem. Or or...OR...if he didn't stand at half court and QUIT ON HIS TEAMATES there would not be a problem. But, like Seattle Slew, you put on your blinders there horsey and ignore the facts of the matter. DD
I can't believe I have to go this way to defend a guy but he got this reputation and desservedly so from what he said he did in Orlando. But like Ron Artest I believe every guy is entitled to a second chance. Since he has been in Houston he has been pretty much a top guy, he has worked hard. It is easy to hate a guy that shows no motion but that is the guy Tmac is. He has a lazy face and lazy look, but in the end he cares about this team, he worked his butt off last season when Yao went down, but a lot of Rockets fans run on short fumes and forget all about it. They say that was last season not this season, but this season he is coming off a surgery and will need another one in the conclusion of next season. People say he should of strength and conditioned during the offseason, I am not a doctor but how quick can you work out after a shoulder or knee surgery. Ok he is taken two weeks now to get his body back, fair enough I feel he has earn the right to get healthy and fit and ready for the conclusion of the season, which is the most important time of the season. If Yao tells the coach he is tired and needs a couple of games off to get ready for the finishing grind I am all for it.
naw, that rileydog is a real fan, if memory is correct goes to the slums of san antonio with the Rowdies to watch the Rockets play on the Spurs turf. real fan. true fan.
Once again, another tracy thread. I guess it was too hard to find the 50 miliion that are already in the garm to post your thoughts. Someone said something about working 60 hrs a week, who fault is that? Maybe if you use your mind, start something someone wants or needs, you wouldn't have to work 60 hrs. Just saying. Don't look to atheletes to make you happy or sad. When I go speak to schools and such, I always try to tell teenagers that whomever you pull for as a team or individual, they're only human. It may sound simple, but its the truth. I've been known to be hard on some of the rockets players, but I don't have the hatred or total dislike some have for tracy, rafer, or whomever. They get paid a kings ransom for a childs game, but they're human. Money doesn't make you something you're not. In fact it elevates who you really are, but people on this board tend to think because they make X amount, its going to change their core. If you have shown that you will quit, its not going to change whether you make 10 or 20 million. I'm pretty sure everyone has quit something or changed paths, I know I have. I took 2 steps back to leap 5 forward and that's why I'm retired at the age of 34. I knew I wanted something, but I had to give up something immediate to get there. Tracy, Yao,Rafer, Shane and whomever else are just people. No super heroes, they can't walk on water. If they die tommorrow, they're not coming back.
You start rehab after having loose particles removed from you knee 7 days after the fact, same as the shoulder. Tmac's surgery was the lamest of the lame....they were arthoscopic, the smallest of the small. It is not like he had microfracture, or even ligiment repair, he had a small incision (about the size of a penny) and had small things taken out. Big deal.....sorry....NO BIG deal. But according to Tmac......it was a major surgery, never mind that Schaub had it and played 4 weeks later, Roy had it in August and is playing, and Kobe had it last year and played 77 games. I am sure that Tracy's was WAY worse than theres........ROFLMAO ....NOT ! DD
OK if his shoulder isn't that bad then he was still going through knee problems. I am just going by the fact of what the doctors says compared to some random fans on a message board, call me old fashioned. But you DD are funny guy I a respect you. You post on this board non stopped, about everything and anything. Then once you get something right every once and a blue moon your not hesitant to point it out and bring it back up. So here's to you my good sir.
I really wish they would just trade the guy. I'm really tired of everyone blaming everything on him. If the wife doesn't give you any, its because tracy let moon go for a dunk. If the boss made you pickup paperclips, its because tracy is out of shape. If you found out your teen daughter is screwing the whole football team, its because tracy isn't buying into the system. Trade the guy, get whomever the people want, the move on. Its getting silly that we have so many threads about the same dude that has been here for 4 yrs.
Common, It's human nature to attach emotions to a particular athlete. I absolutely agree that money won't magically turn Tracy into what we all want, but my point is that anybody whoever dreamed of playing pro-basketball and is now working a 9-5 (Or however many hours) sees his attitude and this is response you get. I'm so far removed from hating Tracy, I understand he's mentally weak and physically breaking down. That doesn't mean I can excuse his half ass effort on the court.
Yes I did try to ignore the name calling, and yes I agree with the things he said, but the name calling was unnecessary. Just state your point, name calling only leads to more whiny debates
I agree this could have been put in the thread about Tmac's interview on channel 2. But I thought there was enough here for a separate post. Some responders seem to agree. 60 hours a week is not unusual for an investment banker, big firm attorney or any number of professional occupations. At least from what you've wrote, it seems you're rich and retired. If true, great. But don't be so condescending when you don't know whoever posted the 60 hour a week comment. Other than telling everyone that your rich at 34, I don't understand the point of your post. It's certainly not responsive to anything I said. Except that I guess you think people shouldn't care much about core values of hard work, toughness, and team, because that's just sports, and you shouldn't care that much about sports.
In college we had a guy that was screwing the other guys fiance' and he knew. They played together on the court and played well, but had a couple of fist fights in the lockeroom. It didn't matter because once you get on the court, you leave everything off the court, off the court.
Wait aren't you the guy who won't rehab for 3 months and play 30 minutes of one on one ball? If you play some charity gets $1000, and you lose nothing but maybe some false pride. Yet, now you're a doctor who's an authority on rehab time and pain? Wow, step up or shut up, come on.
I thought about the gender references and decided to include them because they're core to the point of the thread -- how can the teammates stand such a wuss/primmadona? But, there's always a consequence for choice of words. One of them is that the words chosen can distract from the message. Which is what happened with you. I wouldn't change the post, but I get that it can be unproductive.
