for the love of christ, get over it. we all know he didn't do everything he was supposed to do to be healthy this season, but whining NON FRICKIN STOP isn't going to change anything, you have not offered any insightful facts or knowledge that every single fan doesn't know already. all you are doing is repeating what every tmac hater has been saying all season and some his entire career. yes, he hasn't given the full effort, yes he didn't do what was necessary to be prepared for the season, but these are professionals, they don't cry when their teammates are injured and don't perform well, they suck it up and do what THEY can do, they don't worry about everyone else. this is all being blown out of proportion there are no chemistry problems, there are no yao/tmac problems STOP SAYING THE SAME **** OVER AND OVER ITS GOD DAMN ANNOYING

1st of all I'm not a big tmac fan in particular, but I'm tired of hearing everyone assuming they know everything. People do not respond the same way to surgery. Look how long it took d wade to get back? How about Gilbert? those guys must be lazy right? Sorry that tmac tried to come back early to help the team instead of taking time to rehab properly. He had good intentions and was frankly not in condition to be playing. In hindsight, I'm sure he would have done things differently.

I do agree that he is a whimp compared to kobe, but at the same time I'm not bashing him like you other fans. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You have no idea what he is going through, how bad surgery sucks, especially when you had 2, and one had complications.

If I remember correctly, he was deferring to Yao a ton last year before Yao went down. I think he knows, and now Yao knows, that Yao is the man. But behind Yao, Tmac has to be number two. He is just too talented.

I dont know how you think he has hung them out to dry? Is he not rehabbing? Is he not trying to get better so that he can help out his team mate? He is so selfish for trying to strengthening his body so he can contribute when he gets back. It does the team no good when he is limping and gimpy like before. If anything that hurts the team more then helps when he is playing like he has 1 leg.

"OHH! TMAC TO THE RACK!" (IS BACK!)

I can't wait to hear Bill say it again.

I'm pumped to see Tracy play like he used to. He's only 29, there is no way he is over the hill. I've had a knee injury. I know what he means when he says he can't go as hard as he used to. You just don't trust your knee because it doesn't feel healed. He probably still isn't 100%, but he's probably headed that way.

I hope he continues behind the scenes and doesn't come back until he's ready for real this time, but here is to patience should he come back at less than 100%.

"OHH, MY! TRACY LOOKS UNSTOPPABLE !"

Take She Mac and use Me Mac and it's fine
Take McLady and use McLazy and it's fine
Lose all those 'her/she' for 'him/he' swaps
Drop the "sore vagina", "p***y", etc jokes.

If one of those things pops up now and then, okay fine. But thread after thread, post after post, filled with them is misogynistic, period. Tracy has been self-centered, unprofessional, and lazy. Those are not synonyms for female. He hasn't been "dainty" - he's mailed in games and given 10% effort on the court.

Again, the occasional barb is okay - but this ridiculous flood of feminized insults is offensive.

The better analogy to point at is how the boards got semi-racist during Yao's first couple of seasons. The six fowls joke, etc - thankfully we've moved on to a point where no one feels prompted to come up with a poor Asian/Chinese tie-in joke to every fault he has. It was offensive when it became rampant, and classless of this BBS.

    Stay Classy, Clutchfans.

Thanks. I think there's a small subset of people here (including you and md_in_training, to name a couple) who can disagree with each other and still be civil about it.

One caveat--anybody who's hung out with a bunch of guys at a sports bar watching a game knows that guys can be pretty brutal when it comes to criticizing athletes. This stuff about T-Mac having female genitalia is I think pretty typical. I know that I, in the company of friends, use language that's a lot more graphic and obscene and it generally gets a laugh.

I don't bring that here, but I can understand why some people wouldn't necessarily see the difference between that small group of friends and a larger public forum. After all, you're still talking about sports.

I can understand why people would be peeved that comparing McGrady to a woman is supposed to be an insult. It's comparable to the Jim/Kris Everett debacle with Jim Rome.

But the OP didn't include any obscenities in his post. He didn't directly accuse McGrady of coming equipped with female genitalia. In terms of vulgarity I don't think he stepped over the line. In other words you can accuse the OP not being politically correct but you can't accuse him of being obscene/vulgar.

I absolutely agree about the whole sports bar thing. I do the exact same thing--all the time. Yet, when you're having a discussion over the internet with people you don't really know, using too much bathroom-humor, etc., often gets out of control and kills the discussion. I mean you can only ignore so many people, right?

Anyway, let's all move on to something else (for now ;) )

You guys are the worst ****ing fans in the world. It makes me sick. Areans is doing tyhe same **** and he's not getting half the **** T-Mac is getting. At Least Tracy is trying. You know people say Houston Rockets have the worst fans in Basketball and this is proving it. 1 legs and one Arm he dropped 40 points in a elimination game when the rest of the Damn team quit. You Know it takes 5 TO PLAY. NOT 5 PLAYERS ON THE COURT WHO DONT WANNA PLAY JUST BECAUSE THEY EXPECT TRACY TO DO EVERYTHING! And when he does, he comes up short and he gets the blame. I don't understand why you have to hate tracy to be a ture rockets fan. This team would be **** without Tracy and everyone knows it. You think this lil winning streak will hold up!!! What's going to happen when yao stars having 12 pt 3 rebound games huh? OH YOU BLAME IT ON TRACY For not being there!!!! And all these girl names? You "fans" suck!

I'm going to come up with girl names for everyone on the team

    Yao-mina Ming
    Louisa Scola
    Shanay Battier
    Stacy McLady
    Rasheeda Alston
    Dikemba Mutumbo
    Veronica Wafer
    Ronisha Artest
    Bernda Barry
    Luanne Head
    Anastasia Brooks
    Carly Landry
    Charlene Hayes
    Joesphine Dorsey

HEY LOOK I'm A TRUE rockets fan

Amen. It's really annoying. I'll go as far as saying even changing their names bugs me. Such as people saying Scrubola etc.

    Just call them their names.

You asked, so I'll shoot you straight. You are wrong about a big part of this whole argument. Tracy has not quit on this team. Tracy is injured. If you don't think so, watch clips from two years ago and then watch clips from this year. Tracy has cut out his biggest weapon, driving to the hole. Why? Because he is coming off of a knee injury and his knee doesn't feel strong enough to make that kind of move. That's just one thing to look at. Look at how much lift he gets on shots, look at his lateral defense. Get it? Or should I be more direct?

It honestly sounds like your opinion is that 'if you don't trust your players when they tell you the truth about their injury, you must not be a real Rockets fan'.

...come down from your horse, gta.

What injury? The doctor said he was fine!@ So the doctor must be lying?
Scratch that, that's not even why I call him a quitter. Go watch that Toronto game and see why this guy standing 5 ft from 3 point line let his teammates play 4 on 5.

He quit, no doubt about it, he does it every year, only this year, the team said.....meh...and went on without him.

Good for them.....now Tmac is coming back.....good for the team.

    Tough love works wonders.

Ok, so the dr said he can play. We all get that "structurally" his knee is cleared for work out and games. Does that necessarily translate into being game ready? I don't think so. You must take in consideration about muscle atrophy he probably developed recovering from surgery. Not only that, his conditioning and his strength was not there the entire season. You call him lazy for coming into the season fat. He did skip all of preseason and camp to strengthen his knee, but clearly that was insufficient and it showed throughout the entire season. I don't see why you accused him of being lazy and out of shape when the true fact is that he did not even have enough time to strength and condition his body.

Quitting on the team is what Bonzi did under JVG or Starberry is doing to NY. Tmac is busting his balls to get into game shape. I hardly call that quitting. I would however agree with your sentiments if he got fatter and showed no signs of improvements. However making a jump from a 5.1 to a 4.69 forty is ginormous. You can not attain that by being lazy and is proof he is working hard to get the tmac we all want back.

Again, I could care less if this is tmac, Yao, SF3.

I can take that last argument as the reason why you call him a quitter, but for calling him a quitter because of his health is what really bugs me.

The doctor said he was cleared to play, not to play at the equivalent level of the same player he was before the surgery/injury. gta, it's obvious that you've never had a knee injury. They are hell to come back from. You feel weak every time you land or take off. I don't know if you play basketball or not, but you do a lot of both when you play the game.

I didn't see the Toronto game, but I saw games before and after that one (Milwaukee, Philly and OKC). The guy had trouble getting involved in those games too, but it looked like he was involved because he was passing to our guys and they made shots. The team shot 34% against Toronto and Tracy only had 2 assists. I'm saying that Tracy looked involved in other games because he could still pass. If his team isn't shooting, he's going to feel worthless, so he acted worthless because his knee weakness made him that way.

I have no idea what kind of fan you are, but this kind of stuff was going down when Hakeem had issues with an injury. I still don't know about you, but I'm glad the Rockets Brass didn't quit on him.

Tracy didn't quit on you, gta, you are quitting on Tracy, gta. Tracy plays for the Houston Rockets and he will be a great player in this league again, gta. Probably sooner than later. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander and taking some time off instead of dialing it in every night was his answer. He's doing what he can for the Rockets whether you like his decisions or not. I hope upon high hope, that we don't trade our next potential Hakeem for short-term gain, gta.

Doctors aren't perfect and neither is your logic. Get off your high horse and just be a fan, gta.

Being lazy is one thing. Quitting on your teammates is another. Nobody's calling him a quitter because of his health. The Toronto game is what made him clearly a quitter. If I had a teammate like that, I'd beat the shxt out of him myself.
