but we wouldn't have deandre's bird rights to sign him above the cap and we likely wouldn't have enough capspace to sign him into. i'd much prefer to sign&trade capela now and get something good back for him. if he takes the qualifying offer we won't be able to trade him even if he pouts and acts up this coming season

Basically the Rockets offered 50/4 and he wants 80/4...the middle would be 65/4, i'd be ok with that if i'm the Rockets.

I would like him on a relatively cheap contract, but I'm not opposed to a S/T to get a good player in return.
I'm not sure if the Rockets are going to be able to succeed in that. Part of it may be related to his BYC status and the hard cap that will result to the acquiring team for Capela.

So now we've got Nurkic signing for $48M/4yrs and Jokic signing for $148M/5yrs.

Capela's value lies somwhere in between those $12M/yr and $29.6M/yr contracts.

I think Morey's looking at $17M-18M. The problem is Clint is likely still hoping for $25M. That's a gulf.

We should get a great half-season out of him, then, while we're prepping Alec Len as his replacement (or whoever). Clint will be busting his ass to make a good impression on the Warriors or Lakers or whoever for next summer. Then at the trade deadline, we flip him to Sacramento for Cauley Stein and a couple of #1 picks.

Eventually Capela will be very exciting to play for us. We are going to pay him at least 80 million.

Same thing I said about Dmo...Capela should be unhappy with his agent. He’s suppose to find him an offer on the market that Clint likes.

This never made any sense. Clint was living out of an orphanage a couple of years ago, anyone thinking he would turn down 80 million just to squeeze out a few extra more and risk a Dmo situation isn't living in the real world. That's why I said Rockets had all the leverage.

Especially when the FA market died down and he had received ZERO offers from other teams.

    Burrito Shelburne is terrible.

First during the WCF she reports Kawhi wants to stay a Spur... then she reports Capela likely to play for the QO.

She just isn’t good if she isn’t getting info from Jeanie Buss or Philip Jackson.
